MOPAR - MAXCARE - Zeigler - Extended Warranty Merged Mega Thread

Put in the info and the next page will have the prices.
Oh okay, I thought you were referring to a particular dealer’s website that sells it too that everyone on here was talking about.

Its Zeigler if thats who you are referring too. They just use a different site for whatever reason.

I paid cash for a 7yr/125K Max Care for my 2021 Limited CTD. For $3,300, its a extra piece of mind for me and is transferrable so will help if I ever try to sell. With all the electronics, power running boards/sunroof, CTD odds/ends, air suspension, one failure outside of standard warranty would eat right thru it. I wouldn't recommend financing it unless your rate is 0%.

First I have heard of a mopar extended warranty being transferable. I do know they will reimburse you the unused portion of the remaining extended warranty if you sell or trade in. I have had my dealer "transfer" the unused portion reimbursement to a newer vehicle and then I paid the difference of the new warranty cost.

Zeigler offers a 0% monthly payment if anyone wants to go that route.

Right here in writing, this is from my Mopar extended warranty. Transferable to 1st subsequent owner.

If it gives you peace of mind, then get one. I bought one on the used Ford I traded in last November. Right before I traded it, the sunroof broke. They wanted 4300 to fix it. Luckily I had the extended warranty.

Depends on your vehicle and where you live. You are asking the forum for an answer only the warranty website can give you.

I bought Carshield for $1393.00 - 5 year 125,000 miles. I am at 20K miles now so my basic warranty will be up this year.

Mostly because the of the CP4!!

I went through the quote process. I guess I was more asking if that is a decent price, ballpark of course. I was thinking it would be more honestly. For $2k I am considering it.

I have used a third party extended warranty one time ever. Blew the transmission on a 2008 F150 towing a boat. Lost OD and 4th gear. Since it was under warranty I made sure to smoke the hell out of the trans to remove doubt and drove home 50 miles in 3rd gear, and then 90 miles to the dealer. I'm confident the trans fluid was extra chunky, not creamy. Joke was on me, they claimed no debris and did a "repair" rather than a "rebuild" which included squirting a little fluid into the old torque converter and calling it flushed and sanitized. They did not disclose this to me, and 4 months later the TC was destroyed. When I called the dealer to gripe and I found out, I was livid because it was a $100 retail part I would have gladly paid for rather than trashing the truck. I repaired everything correctly and traded the turd in...only truck I ever took a bath on and I'm still salty.

The issue to me was not my cost, you are paying for risk mitigation. The issue is the half ass approved repairs for cost containment and it costs you big in the long run.

Been researching some extended warranties just in case I keep this truck past 36k considering some of the issues I've had. What have other purchased for extended warranties once they've already had the truck a year or so or were approaching 36k?

Thanks
Here is my opinion on the extended warranty.
It depends on the circumstances. If you are racking up a lot of miles in a short time it is likely not worth it. But if you are keeping the miles low and keep the truck for several years it may make sense.
If you go to Ziegler’s site you may find a plan worth considering. Also once you select a plan put in “payinfull” in the promotional code and it knocks the price down further.
8 years 85k miles 200 deductible
$1465

After all the horror stories with the ecodiesel, I purchased an extended warranty on my 2016 Eco after the 3/36 was up. I think I paid $1300 for a 5/100 extended warranty. I had the electronic power steering go out. $200 deductible and extended warranty handled the rest. So I actually saved money on the $2400 repair.

Thanks! That code knocked $400 off my quote.

Hello everyone
Recently purchased a 2021 Ram 3500 dually 6.4 gas engine truck. I just recieved a letter about purchasing an extended warranty for 3500.00 , this adds an additional 3 years or 36000 miles on top of the factory 3/36000. What are everyones thoughts on these extended warranties? the truck is used for a daily driver with no hard towing or hauling. I used to own toyotas and never bothered with extended warranties.
Thank You

Talk to your credit union. I got 7/100000 for about half that. The first 3/36000 is RAM warranty.
