Personal preference. Id like to see 200 or below at cruising. 220-230 without a trailer seems awful warm for a motor that hasn't been worked. What about 220 degree coolant and oil temps is bad? Genuinely curious what you have to say.
In my hellcat there's a huge difference in performance between when my temps are 170-180 and over 200. Timing gets pulled and starts dumping fuel to try to cool things down. In an application like this truck, the longer I can keep it cooler the better off it will be in the long run. Thats not to say I want to keep temps ice cold because you run into over stressing parts that aren't up to operating temps. 190-200 is a nice middle ground with plenty of room to beat on the motor if I need to when pulling a trailer without worrying about temps creeping up. Currently i see 220f coolant and oil temps unloaded which is a bit concerning to me.
