All,

Just a quick question, when does your low fuel level light go on in your truck. My 2025 (2500) seems to be set for 1/4 tank and not the customary 1/8 tank level

Put some miles on it and it will likely change as the DTE gets more accurate. All my vehicles with DTE readout started with low fuel light at 1/4 tank left then slowly would work its way to about 1/8th tank.

On my old Ram 1500 with the 360, that would have been half tank....

Yeah it’s a pretty useless metric. Push the pedal to the floor and you can change 50 to 43 in about 2 seconds lol.

Never realized there there was a mileage to empty metric, I just figured it sucked fuel down so fast that it was just trying to give me a heads up before I ran out of gas. I place the blame squarely on my right foot.

It’s been right at 50 miles on both of my diesel 4th gens. I haven’t driven the Hemi enough yet to know what triggers it.

It’s 35 miles on the wife’s Gladiator, which is overly optimistic when towing.

That’s very generous compared to our Comanche. The light came on about 30 feet before the motor would sputter out on that truck. It wasn’t a “low fuel” light it was an “it’s dry” light

The yj never had a light (or atleast a working one) would get around 1/8 of a tank and it would sputter out

Mine too, but the warning only ever came on at 50DTE.

The fuel light on my 2020 2500 6.4 came on the other day and I immediately whipped into a station and filled up. Took 27 gallons. So 31 minus 27 = 4 gallons left when the light came on and my DTE said 50 miles. I had been doing a lot of stop light to stop light driving lately so my mileage was showing 12.5 mpg.
