Hi all. I am looking to pick up a new 2500 6.7L. I need to grab one ASAP. Options are some what limited for models locally. I will be pulling/hauling roughly 35% of the time, not super heavy loads. Mostly enclosed cargo trailers, and enclosed car haulers. The rest of my driving will be a mix of highway and gravel roads. I am considering a 2024 Limited and a 2025 Rebel. I would have put my name on the Rebel by now but I am concerned the ride will be a lot harsher empty than a Limited. Can anyone share any insights into how the ride differs, if any? Thank you.

I just traded up from a 22 5500 laramie to a 24 limited 3500 for my welding rig. Iam not sure if its apples to apples in compairison to your situation but i find the ride quality excellent with the 3500…. Even smooth. Although i may be jaded after 3 years in a 5500.

I really like the upgrades the 24 has vs the 22. The 2025s look really nice although i think theres somthing to be said for the tested platform of the 2024. Give the 25s a few years to work out the bugs.

And frankly once you get that limited leather seat smell in your nose youll never want to drive anything else

Nope, you're not jaded. I went from an 06 Ram 2500 to a new 24 Ram 3500, and the new truck rides like a Caprice Classic compared to the 06. Its just a very nice ride for a 1-ton truck.

Thanks for the feedback. Its hard to pass up the opportunity to buy the latest offering from RAM, the 2024 Limited is a sweet truck in its own right and has the color combo I like best.
I am surprised no one has driven a 2025 Rebel.......would love to hear the comments on that trucks ride. Online reports suggest its a tad on the rough side.....

Are both 2500’s?

Does the limited have auto-level suspension?

As mentioned in the other thread you asked the same question in, spring to spring the difference in the rebel isn’t something you’ll likely notice. Auto-level will make the biggest difference.

Tire pressure is also a big factor in ride quality and the aftermarket hasn’t yet come up with a solution to lowering the TPMS threshold on a 2025 truck.

Thank you for the reply. I thought posting here might get more traffic. My apologies for the double post. Yes, both trucks have the auto levelling air suspension. I thought for sure the off road set up in the Rebel had a stiffer suspension making for a potentially rougher ride on the highway empty over the limited. Looks like i may be wrong which is good by me! I will hopefully get some seat time in a Rebel in the next day or so.

I think if anything, the Rebel would have softer springs like the Power Wagon does. Probably best way to tell is look at both of their payloads.

A little late to the party here but I can tell you my 24 6.7 3500 with air suspension rides better than any other HD truck I've ever owned and I've owned a fair amount. I haven't driven a Rebel but my towing habits are similar to yours and I can't believe how smooth it is after messing with tire pressure. (bought it new in Sept., only has 5k miles on it though)

Awesome. Thank you for the feedback back! Your comments reaffirm my decision. Cheers
