Longhorn leather dash failure

Not the windshield, they treated the dash and interior.
Ok I saw you quoted my post but I had posted about ceramic window tint to help reject uv/heat. I didn’t know ceramic interior protection was a thing.

Seems there's a few theories/causes being conflated.

<snip>

The general consensus is the cause from water based (environmentally friendly) adhesives used to install the leather dash covering. Certain cleaners or having tint or UV rejection film installed on the windshield would saturate the dash and release the adhesive.

I believe what he's saying here is the water from the windshield film installation saturated the dash and caused glue failure. They're expected to put a rope/towels down but perhaps they're still allowing moisture to get to the leather/stitching and it wicks in?

All of these failures that I have seen were shortly after the ceramic treatment on the interior, the wood cracks and the glue fails because it can’t breathe.
"Treatment" applied to the leather.
Ceramic Windshield tint caused the dash to not be able to breathe?

Not the windshield, they treated the dash and interior.
