My ARE MX shell, (if it ever arrives), will have a roof rack - Yakima Core Bars. On my previous truck and shell I had L shaped load stops that attached to the bars. That Yakima rack and bars were 20 years old and the round shape. The core bar is the aerodynamic shape. My searches have not turned up what load stops work on the Yakima Core Bars. Does anyone know? Thanks.

Thanks! I find all vendors of the newest version are sold out and even the Yakima website shows them backordered. It seems like everything in the world is backordered for the past year! I finally got my 2-1/2" drop down rack for my hitch receiver but still waiting at almost 4 months for my ARE canopy! Genos fuel caps took 3 months, the truck itself almost that long, etc., etc.. Crazy!

I did find one of the previous versions of this kit in new condition for 1/2 price. That version was originally designed for the round bars but I read that you can alter the rubber and it will then fit the Core Bars. We shall see once it arrives. If it was for a roof top bike carrier I might be more concerned about doing that but for just "stops" I think it will be fine even if the fit is not perfect. Heck when I was young and did not know better I carried a 16' canoe on round roof racks, just strapped down and tied bow and stern. No stops at all and it was fine for 20+ years!

If you haven't received the rack already, you could also look at the HD bars. They have a slot that runs down the length of the bar and you can slide an eye bolt in there as a tie down point if you want. lots of options with those bars.

It's coming I'm the factory with the core bars. The dealer I went through only showed me two types of bars. The core bars and another one that was round but didn't have a slot on the top. I don't remember what that was called or if it even was a Yakima. Maybe there were other options if I had questioned it but I didn't know to at that point. I just looked at what you're referring to and yes they do look like they would have been a good option.

But I think I can get the keel over kit to work so all will be good. I never carry anything up there but the canoe anyway.
