Lightbar and backup lights

Finally got around to installing a lightbar in the bumper and some backup pods. The lightbar is 20" and fits good. Could have gone a little bigger. Not sure if I'm going to keep the pods where I put them. On my 2012 I put them under the hitch. We'll see how they hold up there. Everything cost approx. $100. Cheap lights but bright enough and easily replaced when needed.

That looks pretty nice. Did you fabricate a bracket for the light bar?

I picked this up a Lowes. I was going to use flat bar but felt it wasnt sturdy enough. I cut it to 27".

I might try that myself , are you happy with that size light bar or would you go longer?

What model/wattage/etc did you go with? They’ve got enough bars and combos I’m not sure which one to pick up.

I just picked up a cheap Amazon bar. Works good for what I wanted. Just use it on back roads. I think a 26" will fit, so may pick up another one.

For cheap lights nilight is pretty good. I have a single pod of theirs for a reverse light on my truggy and it has been good and survived many rollovers

On my 21 diesel, it looks like my max is 22” for the bar. I’m looking at the single row 7” or 11” for backup lights. Lower profile than big square pods.

I can't stress this enough. I hate driving towards some d-bag running off road lights on the road.

I passed a minivan a couple weeks ago with one pointed up. With as many guns and as many unhinged lunatics as there are floating around my area I have never understood why someone would purposefully incite road rage.

I do have a stupid question - what are you guys using your light bars for? Everyone I know that has one is just decorating their jeep or half ton grocery getter but I know there are real use cases out there.

We put one on our loader at work other than on equipment lightbars are useless and look gay on a truck

Deer are thick out past the street lights. Honestly I’d like wider illumination rather than further down road.

I didn’t have fog lights and I added the Baja designs squadron (SAE approved street legal version) fog lights and they are bright and have a wide pattern. It is a fog pattern, though. It’s low and wide if aimed properly. illuminates the shoulder well enough for me
