Light upgrades

Hello all,

I have a 2019 Ram 2500 that I’m looking to upgrade the headlights and backup lights. I originally had a 1500 for a week before trading it in right away for this 2500. The 1500 had headlights with a serious wow factor. I was blown away at how much I could see all around and how bright everything around was. I asked the dealer what lights were on it and all they said was “Sylvania”. Now I knew nothing about upgrading headlights, so I went with the silver star ones, then exchanged them for the gold star when I saw there was a $15 mail in rebate. What a disappointment! $60 for the pair and sure they’re better, but NOTHING like what I was hoping for. Any suggestions? I briefly familiarized myself with how there can be issues with LED upgrades, but see a lot of them come with heat sinks / modules and all.

Secondly, when backing up, I would really like a “WOW” factor, so any thoughts on that would be very much appreciated as well.

Hell, while I’m at it, I would like a bit brighter and more daytime kind of interior can lights.

Thanks in advance everyone for reading.

What headlight housings do you have?

For backup lights I added the Baja designs kit for our truck. Plenty of wow there.

I’m not sure what housings I have. Is there a style or model you’re asking? Do these two pictures help answer your question? Or maybe the third picture of the bulb helps?

Ok just halogen reflector housings.

I went with the morimoto 2 stroke 3.0 led upgrade with PWM modules. They are the LEDs that match the filament placement of the factory bulbs most closely, IMO. Incredibly bright and match the factory reflector spread and cutoff.

I havent had any luck getting led bulbs to fit in my high beam housings. The locking tabs are different and I wasted too much money trying different bulbs and gave up.

I know all too well why it’s like wasting money trying something then giving up.

Is the Baja designs kit like a bulb kit? Or more like an additional light fixture such as like around the tow hitch?

I came across this website called headlight revolution. Have you heard of it by chance?

So with the halogen reflector housings I have the morimoto 2 stroke 3.0 led upgrade with PWM modules is what you would recommend?

The Baja designs reverse lighting kit is auxiliary lighting, yes

I really like the morimoto 2 strokes, they’re incredible. the only thing I dislike about them is how loud the cooling fans are. When I unlock the truck, it sounds like a drone taking off lol.

The cooling fan on the headlight? Like inside this module?

Very interesting. Ok at least I’m on the same page. Thanks for your help. I’m not really looking for auxiliary backup lights, but I’m definitely checking these headlights out. Thanks again!
