That looks like a handful to tow! Beautiful rig. Here is our latest rig. She is a big girl! 47’ weighing in just over 29k. She turns heads wherever we go.
Truck pulls great but isn’t a big fan of starting from a dead stop up hill.
It is a handful and a half to tow. HahaThat looks like a handful to tow! Beautiful rig.
I'm curious about the power ratings on the 5500. My company runs some medium duty commercial trucks, mostly rack body. Our Chevy 5500 has a duramax rated a fair bit lower in HP and torque than the same year/engine in a pickup. I've assumed this is for durability and knowing the strain it can put on the transmission when starting a loaded truck from a stop. Is your 5500 6.7 rated the same as it would be in a 2500/3500?

Thats a camper!!! nice setup! Here is our latest rig. She is a big girl! 47’ weighing in just over 29k. She turns heads wherever we go.

Went up and grabbed our trailer with the new truck. Loved the 8 speed and the HO power. Never felt like I ever had a situation where I needed more truck but this feels just slightly smoother in almost every way. Now to get the trailer loaded up this week for the trucks first road trip! Were headed north to the Minnesota state fair and then over to Mackinac Island.

We talking milk or steaks...either way I'm hungry now.Hauled a load of cattle yesterday. The 2025 is a beast.
650 miles round trip.
16.5k ish unloaded
28.4k gross on way home
205-207 on coolant temp
160 trans temp
214 oil temp
MPG hand figured 10.38
Truck mpg showed 10.5 for the trip

Thanks! Not sure I'm doing anything special just taking the advice of some seasoned vets on the forum here! If I learn anything I'll be sure to sharePlease start a new tow review thread and tag me in it please. You got a nice setup.
Is that a 3500 with factory air?

Standard leaf springs with airbags added, although not inflated in that picture they won't be needed until we get her loaded heavy I suspect![]()
I don't see you having any issues with that setup. I pulled a 36' 5th wheel with a 2018 3500 6.7 SO CTD short bed that weighed 13,500lbs. We lived in it for 3 years, so it had everything we owned. A 10,000lb gooseneck trailer is not going to be an issue for a 25 or 26 3500.
I didn't have air bags on my 3500, and it sat level. I've never driven a truck with factory air bags, so I can't help you there. I hope you're able to test drive them both.Pulling power ain’t my concern. It’s factory air vs non air. Weighing my options. I’ll tow only seasonally long distances for track days maybe like 4 times per year. The rest will be daily driving.
