Im in the process of hooking up my rooftop led strobe. Im utilizing factory aux 1 to power strobe and aux 2 as a monetary switch to change patterns. When I turn on aux 1 the strobe will flash on once the turn off. Aux 1 is set to latch.

Aux 2 does nothing as of now.

When im wiring the 3 wire to aux 2 I went black to ground, yellow to power and left red capped thinking it was only used to power the original controller. Does the red and yellow need to be spliced together then connected to aux 2?

Not sure how the strobe is wired but here is how I wired some lights similar to that.

Aux 5 to power for the lights. I then used one of the pass thru wires and wired that to the pattern change wire of the lights. Ran that pass through wire to a momentary switch and the other wire of the switch to ground. (My lights used momentary to ground to change patterns)

Most likely will need to wire power and ground of light to Aux 1 and then the pattern change wire to Aux 2. Using an Aux won't work if the light is a momentary to ground to change pattern as the aux switch sends power when activated...without more wiring.

It was a cheap Nilight...It's in the trash! POS, lol. I hooked it up to a to a spare battery in the shop to troubleshoot it. Unless the original controller was hooked to it, it would not operate.
