I am not getting the range out of my keyfobs that I think I should, and was wondering if anyone else had the same problem. Same issue on both, and the truck/keyfobs are only a few months old. The max range seems to be ~200ft with a clear line of sight, and I can only get it to work 50% of the time from inside of my house (50ft away from carport). I always like to start my trucks to let them warm up before driving.

My last truck had a Viper remote start that would work about 1/2mi away. I could be around the block and start the thing up. My F150 seems to work about 200yds out, and always works from inside my house. Is this thing just weak, or do I need to do some troubleshooting?

I have the same issue with my 22 3500. The range really sucks, especially when compared to some of my other vehicles.

I've heard to hold it high like a radio antenna and "point" it up. It's not a direct laser to your truck, it's a 315MHz frequency that transmits out in all directions, like a radio antenna.

Update after replacing one battery and no change:

I have found that it works if I long press the buttons. The timing is similar to a dash when doing Morse code. Distance is still only about 100yds, but I can start the truck from inside my house now. That seems like a Tx/Rx strength issue to me

100 yds.... that's a long distance. That's more than enough.

If you need to remote start from further away, you could get the RAM app and pay of course for the ability to remote start from the app from anywhere.

Biggest annoyances so far are the brakes and the remote start distance. I have line of sight from my office desk through a window and it would start from anywhere in my office with my 2018 F150 remote start but with new truck, I have to get within about 150 feet at the furthest to get it to start. I have replaced batteries with no effect.

tla90 this is true, I don't know how or why but it will almost double your range
I've heard that the idea is that your mouth acts like a satellite dish in a way. Conceptually, I kinda get it. Realistically, I don't buy it at all. But I do agree, it seemingly works very well.
