You’re welcome.
Yes I know, someone suggested it should shut off in a block with the fobDoesn’t matter. You can start the truck, then flush all the fobs down the toilet, and the truck will still run and operate until you turn it off.
No way... You know how many pissed off people there would be walking home to get the FOB????Yes I know, someone suggested it should shut off in a block with the fob
I never want a vehicle that is equipped with a feature that is designed to shut down while I am driving. Think about it first from a safety perspective before jumping to a conclusion that is is a dumb feature.Seems like a useless feature then ..... I can steal your truck and then program new FOBS ?
Easy Jeff .... said useless, not dumb.I never want a vehicle that is equipped with a feature that is designed to shut down while I am driving. Think about it first from a safety perspective before jumping to a conclusion that is is a dumb feature.
I think this is so if you lost the FOB while the truck was running you wouldn't be stranded.Easy Jeff .... said useless, not dumb.
As for safety .... shuting down while DRIVING would definitely be dangerous but what might be more useful is to prevent you from driving away at all without the FOB.
Hmmmmmm ... maybe.I think this is so if you lost the FOB while the truck was running you wouldn't be stranded.
I mean it would be nice if the fob is not in vehicle the computer will limit your speed to 5-10MPH. I think this is what happens now with the new security for hellcats. If you start the car but won't put correct pin in you could still drive it but no faster then 10 MPH.I never want a vehicle that is equipped with a feature that is designed to shut down while I am driving. Exaaaaaaactly.I mean it would be nice if the fob is not in vehicle the computer will limit your speed to 5-10MPH. I think this is what happens now with the new security for hellcats. If you start the car but won't put correct pin in you could still drive it but no faster then 10 MPH.
and when the key fob has a low battery and repeatedly throws “key not detected” error messages while driving? Honestly, with all the **** going on with supply chains right now we should not be making cars more complicated.I mean it would be nice if the fob is not in vehicle the computer will limit your speed to 5-10MPH. Yea thats not true at all. No vehicle will not shut off without the fob. That would be a huge liability. The message "key fob has left the truck" typically indicates that the key fob is no longer within range of the vehicle, and therefore the vehicle may not start or may shut off. In some cases, the vehicle may continue to run if it was already started when the key fob left the range, but it may not be possible to restart the vehicle once it is turned off.
It is not recommended to drive the vehicle without the key fob within range as it may result in the vehicle shutting off unexpectedly, which could lead to a loss of control and potentially cause an accident.
If your wife is unable to locate the key fob, it may be necessary to obtain a replacement fob and have it programmed to the vehicle. A dealership or locksmith can assist with this process, but the cost may vary depending on the make and model of the vehicle and the specific services required.
