K02s not so great...

I have an ‘18 1500 and am moving up to a 2500 diesel whenever it gets delivered. I know the stock tires on the 2500 are terribly rated so I’ve been looking to swap them out immediately after getting the truck. Lots of folks rave on the K02s, but I have them on my 1500 and I would rate their braking and wet traction performance as 6/10 and 5/10 respectively as compared to the oem tires.

As I dont want to spend more money on tires which I dont think have met expectations, are the ridge grapplers any better than the K02s? Again, they have great reviews but so did the K02s.

No idea about the grapplers, but I’ve had cooper at3 on several 3/4 trucks and when my truck finally gets delivered, that’s what I’ll be putting on as well. Quiet, well mannered tired. Tread life has always been great and the do well in every situation I’ve put them through. I don’t go “mudding” but they do clean themselves out well enough off-road and snow traction has not been an issue at all.

I’m running Ridge Grapplers on my 3500, and wet traction is excellent!

I've run BFGs on several trucks both on and off road with no issues.
Also ran the cooper AT3s on a F250 with no issues.
Currently have KO2s on my 21 PW.
But I dont get snow here.

Another vote for Coopers, I went to 295s on stock 18 inch wheels and love the way they look! And ride!

Bfg's only perform worse on the diesel.
Do you need a winter rating?
I know quite a few people that run ridge grapplers with no complaints. I really like my falken at3w. I've also ran nitto exo grapplers and Toyo's with no complaints

I had KO2s on my Frontier. They did everything I asked of them. Granted that truck was also a Manual so I could brake pretty fast if I wanted to by down shifting. I was thinking about getting them with my 2500, but kind of wanted to try something elsw

No need for winter rating whatsoever.
I may try the coopers mentioned above, as they are made in America.

I ran KO2's on my 2017 JKU, and they were fantastic on the Jeep. However, I've just been really happy with Nitto's on my HD trucks

I love my Toyo RT’s. Quiet, smooth and great traction. Wet traction is no problem if that is a concern.

Wrangler duratracs the best tire on the HD trucks in my experience i have the coopers at3 now as they were a deal and they are pretty good aswell

runnin falken at3w for 28k miles. quiet at every speed outside 20-25 where they hum noticeably. live in socal but do a month or so in the snow in the winter and the falkens have been great in areas where they don't get too excited about snow/ice on the roads (OR, UT, ID, MT).

we all have different experiences and we are lucky to have so many good tire choices. I have had cooper st maxx, and at3, duratracs, falken at3w, bfg ko2 and toyo at2, at3, and RT. My least favorite was the duratracs and for all around use is the rt gets the nod but all are good tires. Fuggg i have spent a lot on tires lol.
