Greets,

Picked up a 2019 Power Wagon a couple of weeks ago. I traded in a Subaru Outback that I had upgraded with lift, smaller wheels/bigger tires, overbuilt suspension and load springs, underbody armor and other goodies. Initially looked at Chevy Colorado Bison Edition, primarily because I wanted all the offroad upgrades from the factory. After haggling for months and getting nowhere (mid sized trucks for $45K WTF?) I realized if I could get the discounts others are getting on Rams a Power Wagon would only be $8-9K more. TFL Offroad and TFL Trucks on YouTube sealed the deal with their coverage of the Power Wagon.

At the moment I pull an offroad tear drop trailer, but want to have options going forward (RTT, or Bed camper). Just didn't want to be limited in choice and Power Wagon seemed to be the best bang for the buck. Compared to the Chevy Colorado Bison 16/19 the Power Wagon's MPG isn't that much different, but it's a HEMI with more than 2x the HP and 2x the torque. Chevy didn't have Adaptive Cruise, Home LInk, or Bed Cam. It was impossible to find a Bison edition in the color I wanted too. The Power Wagon is much more value for only 15-20% more $. It became a no-brainer when I found my Power Wagon with all the options I wanted, in the color I wanted, and within 150 miles of home. Found it, negotiated it (and the trade)and next day I was on the way to the dealer to close. Test drive cemented the decision.

Time to quit the Subaru Outback forums and pick it up here, or PW Registry. Thanks for the great resource mods!

So here's Max:

And Max meets Frank the Tank during trade:

And here is what he's getting into:

Nice upgrade.

What's up with all the positive camber on the wheels of that Subaru!? Must have been hell on tires.

Welcome.

That is a great looking Powerwagon and a BIG change from the Subaru.

I am in the midst of learning about local opportunities for "overlanding" and have begun a transformation of my camping profile.

Will be interested in what you got planned and seeing it in action.

Thanks for joining us!

Thanks... I def had a problem with negative camber right after the lift/springs were added and scrubbed the inside tread on some KO2s on a 3,000 mile trip with the camper. After that experience I added adjustable toe arms, changed to a better alignment shop and never looked back. Drove like it was on rails. The Subaru was unsprung in the photo. Adding gear, rack, dogs, etc made it squat a bit. I was almost always at full cargo capacity.

Thanks! The Subaru is what got me into offroad/overlanding and it was everything I needed (then). It was no Jeep, but it could do Class II and with CVT there was no dangling pumpkin. After the lift and minus the armor it had 11.5 clearance at the CVT box.

I'm STILL on these forums looking at PW's after I traded in my Raptor for a Max Steel Rebel back in June. There's a Max Steel PW arriving at a local dealer soon that I'll be looking at. Seems like Max Steel is the rarest of colors on the new 4.5 PW. Great looking truck you have, and I think you're going to enjoy it given that camp pic you posted.

Max Steel is really sweet color...depending on ambient light or if it is in direct light the color 'changes'...

Yep, I’m pumped on the color for sure. The metallic flake definitely reflects whatever the predominant ambient color of the moment. Sunsets in UT on the horizon soon if I live right in the now.
