Issue with new 2025… trailer connection wiring issue

Just chiming in here with my issue to tag along... I have a 2024 gas 2500 that is having connection issues with ONLY boats. I work in the fishing industry and I am usually towing around bass boats. My connection to the 7-pin hasn't worked on multiple boats now. Taking to dealer, should I bring a boat to show them this is a brand new boat and trailer and it is NOT trailer issues?
I had a utility trailer with submersible lights and my 2025 wouldn't recognize the running lights. Brake and turn signals were fine and lights were ok until you turned on the truck. After that, the running lights would flash slowly and the light check would reset about half way through.

@RamCares I just connected one of my trailers with incandescent lights to my brand-new 2025 Ram 1500, and the running lights are not working. The turn signals and brake lights are working. It is a very small 5x8 Stealth enclosed trailer. I checked the trailer connected to my other two Rams, a 2021 1500 and a 2023 2500, and all the lights are working. Then I connected the new 2025 1500 to my dump trailer with LED lights, and everything is fine. Is there a solution for this problem? I do not want to book an appointment with the dealership and end up wasting my time.

Similar issues with a truck camper... no lights, lights with a turn signal fault after a few minutes, randomly flashing lights when unlocking... but mostly just no running lights. The camper wiring is fine, works on everything else. Same issue with the 5th wheel prep bed plug and bumper plug. *Sigh*

Isn't there an option that needs to be ordered to make the trailer connection work ?

Plugged in a 7-pin tester and suddenly the running lights work (camper is plugged into the 7-pin in the bed). Running the trailer light test, when the tester is plugged in the running lights on the camper work... Unplug it and they don't. Just going to keep the tester in the bumper plug and see how things progress. Sucks that a computer got involved on such a simple circuit.

If anyone is having the same issue, grab something like this: https://www.tractorsupply.com/tsc/p...x-fUXcCmRFOo82QKEAKkXGu2UmNxs6__pOXV_FTGisYsk

Interesting. That implies that the truck computer is looking for a resistance or specific load of some kind from the trailer that is not there. For example the load might look like a burned out light bulb or electrical noise is coming from LED lights back into the circuit.

I agree with you. I rewired a trailer with new everything(plug, wire, junction box, and taillights). Grounded at junction box and each light. Still couldn't get running lights to work. Replaced the all in one submersible led taillights with the ones that have a rubber grommet and push in and everything works now. The new ones had separate lights for tail and side markers so pulled more.

Thanks for this tip - for what ever reason this is the only way I can get my travel trailers running lights to work (trailer plugged in bumper, tester in bed). Hopefully a better solution come from Ram but for now I can at least move the trailer safely!
