Does anyone have access to historicals or warranty that shows if a vehicle was damaged during transit to the dealership? My truck is currently in the dealer body shop for rust repair. They sent me some pictures of what they found and said it was previously damaged and the repair was piss poor. I ordered this truck, but was not told about damage.

IMO, I’ll bet that was done at the factory while on the line. There doesn’t appear to be any damage below where the flairs go. Is that the same dealer where you bought it?

Negative. I bought it from my Brother in Law at South Pointe Ram in Tulsa Oklahoma. I live in Alaska, it's being repaired by Lithia.

Have you tried looking at the vehicles Service and Maintenance history?

From the Ram app under Service and Maintenance you can look at the vehicles history.

i ordered my truck and after it was delivered to the dealership. i was postponed from picking up the truck for a couple days. Turned out in my history there was an entry saying the truck had a flat tire and another entry that it was replaced.

Mine came with a small dent in the driver's door. The paint wasn't damaged so it occurred before paint. I didn't notice it until after I took deliver 'cause the truck was dirty. Paintless dent repair couldn't do anything with it though the dealer was willing to foot the bill if he could. I'm learning to live with it I guess.
I reckon the factory in Mexico isn't too gentle with the parts. One of the joys of buying outsourced goods.

It doesn't look like much in the picture but once you see it IRL you can't unsee it. And it's located in a spot I look at every time I open the door.

I have the exact same dent at the same location. Must be some useless sod hitting it of something at the factory lol.

They said the repair hasn't been recorded as having happened from the factory. Basically they are blaming the dealer.

I would ask the dealer for the transport inspection when they received it, the transporter should have noted any damage during transport.

Slightly off topic, but I just got a new 2025 off a dealer lot that was built in May and delivered to the dealer in October. I didn't think anything of it until I really looked around and the truck has all kinds of rust spots on the engine, suspension, brakes, diffs, etc. I mean a LOT of rust. More than my 2022 had after 3+ years. Also there is dust/dirt in places that I have no idea how it got there. Inside fuel door, top of frame rails, all the door jams, window seals. Honestly, it looks like the truck was 4wheeled through the desert through puddles and then parked for 5 months. That said, after I had it detailed there appears to be no permanent damage other than a couple paint scratches that I can live with, but man I don't know what they do to these HD trucks down in Mexico as they all look dirty on the dealers lot. Maybe they drive them in the Baja 1000 prior to delivery!

They come on transport trains or auto transports depending on their destination. Sometimes they will sit at storage lots until dealers bring them to their lots. So I am sure between being on a train cross country and sitting in depots until they reach the lot they can accumulate a lot of dirt. Dealers should be be detailing them but I have found they just hire car washers who spray them down and dry them - not the best in terms of a wash. The under carriage never gets touched.

Back in 2022 my original trucks batteries were ripped out of it at a train stop. When it got to its destination they attempted to pull it off the rail car and pulled the bumper clean off of it. I found this out after weeks of delays and even my dealer was unaware of the damage. I canceled the order and fortunately got my deposit back from the dealer. Weeks later thr truck showed up at the dealer looking like it was in a terrible crash. Not sure who ended up with the truck as it was sent to a body shop and never seen again. I was told they are under no obligation to report transport damage to the end user. Thanks to a well known person on this forum I learned about the damage long before it was too late!

I spoke with the selling dealer about the delivery inspection. They no longer have it, but the Sales Manager sent me a repair invoice stating damage to the left rear fender flare, requiring replacement. I've sent that to my local dealer warranty rep. Fingers crossed something good comes of it.

I also got a call back from Ram Cares today. I could hardly understand what the guy was saying being in India. I don't think he quite understood my issue either. So I think Ram Cares is a dead end, unless the RamCares member on here see's this and takes it over.
