Intake Air Temperature sensor reading

I have a new to me 2008 Ram with 6.7l engine. I just installed an Edge monitor and noticed my IAT is reading 145 degrees F at idle and will go down to around 133 while driving. That seems way to high since it is getting the air from the air box and should be closer to ambient which was about 60 degrees today. What are you reading with yours?

The IAT on the Edge is the temp of the air in the intake manifold, not in the filter box. This would be after the temp increase due to compression by the turbo and then the decrease by the charge air cooler. Then you blend in the temp of the air blending in from the EGR.
A way to observe this is to compare the IAT at low boost pressure with the temp at high boost pressure, with the same speed and OAT.

You can really see the effect of the EGR during regen when the EGR goes to 0%.

Wow. Big difference from yours to mine.

Too many variables to make it seem off. Unless our trucks were idling in the same conditions it’s not really a valid comparison.
