Hey all. I am in the process of developing in bed molle panels for the 2014-2020 Ram HD trucks. These panels are similar to what builtright industries and victory 4x4 do for other vehicles. Let me know what you all think. Images attached. The design is still being fine-tuned. But let me know what you all think or have any questions.

I would buy units for the sides. I had some on a Toyota tacoma, and they were extremely handy. I would love to have some on my 20.

Good to know! We have gotten TONS of interest on other Ram/Cummins forums so we are moving forward with several designs to hopefully begin prototyping. Feel free to send over any questions or ideas for things you would like to see.

My only suggestion is keep the front unit and the side units available separate. I have a tool box in the truck, so the front would be useless. Other than that, keep us updated!! Looking forward to it!

Of course. We will be offering all panels separately, as probably as well as a full kit. We are also developing half panels for people who are running different size toolboxes or spare tires in the bed (AEV spare tire carrier). We are currently developing quick release panels to make it easier to change out gear on the trail or access something mounted to the back of the panel.

If you guys make them for the sides, similar to what builtright has for the Raptors, I'd buy a set.

While vendor advertising is normally against the forum rules unless approved by the @Admin, I didn't see any objections by the staff over on 5thGenRams, so this will be fine unless and until it isn't, but I politely ask that you conduct any sales in the buy/sell/trade sub forum.

As a reminder, per the buy/sell/trade forum rules, transactions are solely between the seller and buyer and not sanctioned by HDRams.

P.S. Love the product. Do you provide that rail mount?

This forum is still strictly for R&D purposes and gathering wants/needs of potential customers. Thank you for the information though! We have a few design iterations that do include a rail mount that will be included with the kit. We are looking at other options as well. We are still a long way off from have a completed product. Prototyping and beta testing still need to happen with a design that we settle on.

Alright guys, In what free time I can find at my day job I have been working on the molle panels. The design we are currently playing with uses a 1" high by 1.25" wide piece of aluminum U-channel as the mounting feature between the bed and the molle panel. The u-channel is fastened to the bed using 1/4-20 riv-nuts and 1/4-20 bolts. There will then be a female receptacle for a DZUS quick disconnect fastener rivetted into the u-channel. The quick detach pin will secure the molle panel to the u-channel. On the bottom of the channel, we are playing with hinge designs that will be bolted to the bed with another riv-nut secured to the bed and bolted to the molle panel itself. This is still a work in progress. We are brainstorming ideas to make the entire panel capable of being a quick disconnect from the bed. All of these design concepts are starting with the front bed panel will be transferred to the side bed panels if we feel it will work well. As always, PLEASE let me know of any feedback you all might have!

Couple suggestions.

Consider ensuring the mounting system is compatible (location) for those with crossover toolboxes as the mount.

Perhaps even offer a shorter height version to keep the under box space available?

Ditto for the sidewall plates, offer them in sizes to accommodate not only LB vs SB, but also account for front mounted boxes.

I'm probably in the minority, I run a super low-pro Taylor Wing crossover box, but I could grab some pics and a few measurements if you like.

We will for sure be offering side panels that will accommodate toolboxes. We may have "universal" molle panels that will mount to a flat surface in the future so those could be used to mount to a crossed toolbox. There are lots of different toolboxes out there with slightly different dimensions so coming up with panels to accommodate all types might not be realistic. Once we get the mounting system squared away we will have the freedom to start exploring different types of panels.

Yea, I was thinking about that as I looked at the double latches on the face of my box... They're all over the place.

Does anyone have CAD for the trucks? I doubt it but thought I would throw it out there. I have requested CAD from FCA but who knows if that'll pan out or not.

You want to use the molle rack at a traction board? No, I would recommend maybe using the traction boards you mount to the molle panel... lol don’t use the molle panel as a traction board.
Was just curious. That would be the plan.
