I need to add a rear cargo camera to a ‘22 3500 Mega cab

Oh course your free to do what you want but the world has worked with 90 years without cargo cameras, I don’t see the point in a camera that’s gonna fail in a few years.
The world has worked for millions of years without computers, phones, cars, or any recent technology, so we should just forgo it for that simple fact? Got it...

While technology makes life easier, is a cargo camera really necessary for $350? No….My father in law bought a Denali and it has according to him like 7 cameras- other than the turn signal and backup one, the rest are completely unnecessary. We live in a free country so you get what you want but a cargo camera is definitely first world problems.

I’m not disagreeing with you as far as if it’s truly “needed”, but I’ve been hooking up gooseneck horse trailers since I was a little kid and I can tell you that it is definitely easier with a decent cargo camera….especially when you are always by yourself. None of this in and out of the truck making small adjustments to get it just right. I ain’t gonna die if I don’t have one, but it’s a convenience that I certainly do appreciate.

I understand what you're saying, I was being a wise ass. I will tell you, Im wanting to add the digital review mirror since I had it on my second TRX. It makes blind spots almost non existent. So is it necessary? Nope. But it certainly makes life easier and in crazy South Florida traffic, a tad safer.

I was hoping this was an easy fix and someone would offer up a simple solution (maybe I’m lazy?) without me having to dig in and start researching. Thus taking me down endless rabbit holes. We need to add a 3rd brake light mounted camera with high resolution. This can’t be that damn hard. And it shouldn’t have to cost $750+ plus either.
If you like the look of a bracket they make a 3rd brake light bracket. You could run a 2nd monitor on the dash with one of those phone mounts that go in the pocket. Granted it would be a lot of messing around but you could get higher resolution and be able to see the gooseneck/cargo area all the time.

I would like to have it integrated like you mentioned. I have the mega cab and getting out every 6" to check if I'm close enough is annoying.
