I need a push button

Gotcha. I will try for a picture tomorrow. I mounted my airbag gauge/ control panel after Christmas. I could not find a place to easily mount it, to be seen easy and out of the way of my legs. I ended up mounting it to the right of the USB/USB-c outlets by the floor. In front of that cubby hole there is a flat spot ( under the control knobs) I screwed my gauge up too. Maybe think about down there kinda hidden for your button than trying to blend it in the dash. It doesn’t sound like you will be turning it on and off every trip or multiple times a day.
Actually, I make it a point to get away from "home" every other day ant a min.
I am pretty good at nosing up where I am not hanging out, but it would be far less trouble to just turn on the cam, nose up, park.
So, I dont want to have to reach over to a spot like that.
Right now, I am going to use one of those wireless switch/relay.

Entertaining the idea of modding the buttons on the backside of the steering wheel.
Curious if they could handle about 1 amp for a minute or two.
Main goal is ergonomics and then aesthetics .

The other issue is mounting the cam.
It fits on the louver center post cover thingy behind the grill.
I can go above or below the RAM.
Without having to dismantle the entire front end, I will probably mount it above.
I am not keen on having it on the plate. I think that would be a bit lower that I would like and Look a bit less sexy.
In the grill and camouflaged is the ticket.
I can also reach all the mounting and wire running without too many parts coming off.
Just the fan cowling cover.
I also dont have to hunting a passthrough on the firewall.
Did that on my '22 and didn't like it.
Seems even drilling a hole in a good spot was not an option. IIRC.

I work from home, so just to get away for a drive keeps me sane. LOL.
Me and the doggo like to go for rides.

Sounds like you have a plan. Post up pictures when you all set.

I ended up going with this relay/switch.
Got all the stuff in last night and bench tested it.
Works great and the little remote I can put anywhere.

I ran out of proper battery terminal connectors, so I have to pick those up today.
I will get this installed today and post up some pics.

I also tested the cam location and it looks like the area above the A in RAM will work just fine.

Here is the switch/relay.
I just VHB taped it. That stuff will stick your butt cheeks together if you clean them properly

And the camera itself.

No offense, but this is a Tradesman, which is poverty level.
No way Am I even looking at switches for an aircraft..... :D
Poverty level......I certainly don't think of my 50+ grand truck as a poverty truck by any means, Just because it's a Tradesman. Sure there are many trucks that are tons more pricey.
