HVAC not blowing properly

Hey, all...
Tried searching for this exact thing, but no luck.

22 Power Wagon, 17500 miles. Went out today to take a drive in our wonderful 90+ degree Montana temps and I turned on the A/C with recirculation, as I usually do. Turned it up to 7 and waited for the blower to catch up. It never did. On 7, it feels like it is blowing on 3. If I put it on 1, nothing is blowing out. Now, the air IS cold...it's just not being blown out with enough force. I tried the "Max A/C" and....nothing changed whatsoever. The blower is doing the same thing with A/C off, too. I changed all the settings several times (fan speed, recirc, a/c on-off, different vents) and nothing changed. I also did a hard reset of the radio/hvac and nope, nothing changed.

Backstory, just got back from a two-week trip to Alabama a couple weeks ago. The A/C handled the heat/humidity of the deep south like a champ. It just seems the blower decided to stop doing it's thing today.

I know I'm probably gonna have to get this in to the dealer, but I wanted to see if there was a simple fix that I'm missing. The A/C just can't keep up with these temps with that blower pushing air out so slowly.

Thanks! I appreciate any insight.

Check the cab filter. I had that issue at one time. For some reason, the filter got wet and would not allow air to pass. Replacing the filter, solved the problem and I haven’t had an issue since.

Apparently, it was the HEPA cabin filter I put in a couple weeks ago. I pulled it out and it immediately increased the flow. I hadn't even paused to think that it may have been the filter, since I had just changed it. I'm going to get a non-HEPA one today; hopefully that fixes it.

I was considering doing the bypass or a lack of better words mod. Because here in Phoenix leaving my truck at work when I get in interior temperatures are 120+ degrees for over a mile. I also allow my truck five minutes to warm up or I guess cool down before driving it. Because on hot days, it just feels like it is not as cold as it should. But when it is blowing for a while, it is chilly so I’m undecided, whether I want to do the mod or not.

I found the oem one flows the best. I have used the Fram filter and while they do seem to restrict somewhat, they really don't impact the system to any degree.

I threw mine out no need for that nonsense. The filters are the issue when my OEM one was plugged i tried an aftermarket one did not flow much at all so i pulled it out and tossed it, went decades in vehicles with no cabin air filter why bother now sure you have a touch more dust to clean but thats no biggy.

Yeah, I have a MOPAR one on order, but I put in the basic one from O'Reilly's and it works much better than the HEPA for now.

Glad I found this thread as I was about to go to the dealer for a service appointment. Plus, I forgot the sound advice once told me - always look first at the last thing done. Had this same problem and it was the replacement cabin air filter put in when I had the oil changed, not at the dealer. Not sure the brand, but when it was removed the air flow was back to normal. Installed a KAX brand from A-zon and it works just fine, no impediment to the air flow like the unknown brand.
