just picked up my first ram. Lightly used 2019 2500 big horn. I was a long time “Chevy guy” but couldn’t stay on that bus any longer. I’ve been drooling over the current Rams for easily 10years, but the silvy wouldn’t die. Well, she finally gave up the ghost and I couldn’t pass up this BH once I found it. Glad to be here and I hope to absorb as much info as possible. I’ll edit and post a pic tomorrow

Welcome aboard. Sounds like you had good luck with the ol gal, let’s hope your luck continues with the new ride!

I appreciate that, hopefully this one lasts longer than the Chevy. I definitely plan to put more effort in rust prevention this time around. The silvy was a great truck. I bought it used with 40k miles back in 06’. After 230k miles in the rust belt, the rear cross member mostly rusted away and I didn’t feel comfortable towing with it anymore. Original engine/transmission and I beat the absolute piss out of that thing. Can’t recommend that generation of Chevys enough (gmt800). That being said, all of the research I’ve done says that this generation of Rams should be just as, if not more reliable as long as I do my part, and I’m excited for that

Hello, you might want to look into NHOU New Hampshire Oil Undercoating for your rust prevention. I'm taking mine in this morning. I just bought a 2024 2500 Big Horn in Flame Red. I live in the Detroit area. I hope this helps. Cap'n Dan

Thanks cap’n! There’s a local farm that does this for a very reasonable price. The Ram will definitely be getting yearly undercoating’s. Hope you’re enjoying yours as much as me and mine

Not a problem Sir, I'm enjoying my RAM very much. She only has 22K miles on her. I traded in my '04 Dodge RAM 2500 4x4 5.7L Hemi for her. I actually drove from Michigan to Ohio to get her, I just couldn't pass up on the deal. I had the undercoating done, they said that depending on how much I drive over the winter, I might be able to get by with once every other year, so that helps keep costs down. Keep the rubber side down... Cap'n Dan
