How to Use Tow Hooks

JFC wtf is this. Don’t do this. Don’t ever put a strap over a ball hitch. The strap is prone to slipping off, and the ball is also liable to shearing off and becoming a projectile.

if you don’t have a proper hitch adapter for a bow shackle, pull the hitch and put the loop off the strap into the receiver and thru the hitch pin

Pulling a 1500# tractor on level ground with a 1500# Rhino at < 5mph, I will take my chances! I understand that you are very safety conscience and I appreciate that...But there is a better chance of me getting struck by lightning sitting in my living room on a clear day than the tow ball shearing off! I understand safety as I am a structural engineer and I work for a General Contractor.

Tonight I will post pictures of me running with scissors...Stay tuned! ;)

I’m also an engineer, and I have dealt with my fair share of contractors...I’ll leave it at that.

Laziness breeds bad habits.

Thanks folks. Think I will pick up a set of USA made soft shackles. Since I am in Canada will wait until they open up that dang border.
I am also in Canada ... If you have a Princess Auto near by, they have some decent 15T soft shackles for around $35 ... I havent managed to break a set and I have grossly exceeded the weight a few times

Im very confused how your truck is still so clean ... I dont mean that to be rude. Love the truck and the pic. I just mean my truck is white and if I sneeze it gets dirty.
wat, I’ve found white tends to stay looking clean, same with silver. Last truck was black...that thing was never clean looking. You can see in the picture the two tone black lowers is much dirtier looking than the rest of the truck

Thanks. Have not heard of "soft shackles" since I don't off-road. Sounds like the way (safer) to go since I would only use them in an emergency.

I used the soft shackles a lot with my rock buggy. They are easier to carry with you and easier to take off and on. You just cant use them to beat things back in to place the steel ones...

I have not had a huge problem getting a looped-through itself tow strap off a wide ring like we have on our trucks. Now getting two straps looped together is a freaking nightmare.

That is so true! One strap looped through itself is no problem getting apart. Looping two together is near impossible to get apart.

Princess Auto stuff is complete garbage. Do yourself a favour and spend a few extra dollars for a better product!

Princess Auto does have a lot of junk but you have to go have a look see at what your looking for....its a hit a miss with them. Ive picked up some good stuff at great prices and disappointing throw away stuff at other times. I bought some rachet cargo pole holdbacks (not sure the proper name) at less than half the price they were charging at the truckers store and they have be flawless for 3 years now.
