How to select a different trailer?

I have a 2024 3500 with all the towing technology packages and features. Supposedly you can set up to 5 different trailers (I could on my 2018 2500). I have my 5th wheel RV all set up as trailer 1 and this works fine. However, when I hooked up my 16’ utility trailer (which has electric brakes) the truck still said it was trailer 1 and there didn’t seem to be a way to set it up as a new trailer. I had to change all the trailer 1 settings like from heavy to light braking and naming it utility rather than 5th wheel. When I hooked back up my 5th wheel again it showed as trailer 1 and I had to reset everything. How do I tell the system that they are two different trailers so I don’t have to reset things each time I connect a different trailer? I’m sure I’m missing something simple but I sure couldn’t figure out how to set the utility trailer as trailer 2 in the system.

On the Uconnect settings trailer page you can pick the trailer.

I wish that were the case but I can’t. It only shows it is connected to Trailer 1. Also, it still says I am connected to Trailer 1 even when I’m not connected to any trailers. But when I connect a trailer it asks me what kind of trailer it is and the mirror cameras work when turn signals are used but when I disconnect it still says I’m connected. When I hook up another trailer it still says Trailer 1. I’m guessing I have a problem with my system and it doesn’t fully detect the trailer is disconnected and reconnected.

I figured it out. I was looking in the wrong place on the Uconnect. I was looking on the trailer page but there is a separate trailer settings area within all the other settings.

Question, does your trailer brake gauge work on your Uconnect? And does your trailer light check button work?

Yep, that's the spot!

Yes they all work. Things are definitely different compared to my 2018. If no trailer was hooked up the trailer brake controller wouldn’t show any information. On this new one, the brake controller shows info and you can make adjustments even though no trailer is connected. That’s why I thought maybe something was wrong. But it turns out everything works just fine and I figured out what I was doing wrong.
