How to avoid triggering alarm when unlocking truck?

I thought I saw this mentioned somewhere a year or so ago but can't find it now. If my truck is locked and I use the key to unlock the driver's door, the alarm sounds. How can this be avoided? I can't find a setting to control this. Simply, we would like to be able to unlock our truck's door with our key, without setting off an alarm. Sometimes when camping, I am away from the site with the FOB and someone may need to get into the truck for something. We keep one of the actual keys in the TT so this is possible. However, when you use that key to unlock the door, it triggers the alarm. This makes no sense to us and we would like to be able to use the key to get access to the truck without the alarm going off like someone had broken a window or something to gain access.

I found this on another site:
Every time you use the the key fob you are turning the alarm on or off. It's built into the software. There's no way to disarm the alarm with the key fob.

It appears that if you lock the truck using the FOB, you cannot avoid setting the alarm. That would not be an issue, if the truck could recognize that you are using a legitimate OEM key to unlock the door and not sound the alarm. This does seem such a bad design though that I still wonder if this is all correct. There must be some simple way to unlock the truck with the key and not trigger the alarm? That post on another Ram forum went on with the below instructions that I am about to try on my truck to see if it works. It is a rather convoluted, time-consuming workaround to do each time but may be worth it at least while camping. I suppose I could also just keep the 2nd FOB in the TT all the time when camping but because the TT is always close to the truck, that would allow anyone who grabs the door handle to get into the truck. I guess that could be avoided by keeping the 2nd FOB in a RFID case.

1) Your settings should be set on 1 press of unlock button only unlocks driver door. Second press unlocks rest of doors and tailgate (otherwise you'll have to walk around to each door and lock it)

2) Stand outside your truck. Press the lock button.

3) Press the unlock button once to unlock only the drivers door.

4) Open the door

5) Take your actual key out of the key fob and put the key in your pocket, safe place, i.e. wherever you are going to store it during your time away from the truck.

5) Put your key fob in the RFID blocking pouch.

6) (TRICK TO MAKE IT WORK) Ready? All you have to do is manually push the door lock indicator down on the top of the door. That's right, that little thing that goes up when you unlock and down when you lock. Press it down to lock the door (this is why having it set only on drivers door on 1 push to unlock is important. If you truck does not allow you to do that then you'll manually have to do this to all 4 doors).

7) Close your door (it is now locked)

8) Test: Use your key to unlock the same (driver) door and open it. Alarm should not go off. (It does not on mine).

you need to lock it using the key, of course than your alarm is not set and I don't think your tail gate is locked either altho I am not 100% on that. if you use the fob it will set off the alarm if you use the key. it sucks lol.

OK. That seems to be what the work around is getting at but if just using the key to lock the driver's door will avoid the alarm, then that is easier. I will try it. It would be even better if, instead of using the FOB to lock, using the door lock button on the door arm to lock also avoided setting the alarm.

OK, tested this out and yes if you set your doors to unlock only the driver's door on 1st press then you can do this fairly easily. Just lock all doors with the FOB. Then one press to unlock only the driver's door. Then push down the driver's door lock /post thing and close the door. Now someone who unlocks the door with one of the keys will not set off the alarm. This bypasses setting the alarm though so there is that. The truck's alarm will be off when locking this way. It still would be much better and smarter if you could set the alarm by locking with the FOB and then not trigger that alarm if you unlock the truck driver door with one of the OEM keys.
