Hikari high beam led install question

I have tried to install the hikari titanova 9005 high beams into a 2021 ram tradesman reflector housing and they fit very loose. The tabs seem to engage but it is very loose after you turn the bulb. Hiakri states I can tighten the two screws in the socket housing of the trucks headlight housing. The picture is what hikari sent me. The one on my truck is plastic
I dont see how that can be achieved without breaking the socket bracket. Anyone else have this issue with any leds not securely fitting?

Thanks

Return them and buy GTR lighting or almost anything listed for these trucks from headlight revolution

Cheap LEDs are usually worse than OEM halogens.. Headlight revolution has a really good video showing different bulbs in these Rams and the output in a controlled environment

Any LED “bulb” you install in a reflector housing is going to be worse for at least you or oncoming traffic, but probably both (and also illegal, but some people here don’t seem to care about that). You’re far better off upgrading to the OEM LED lights.

Headlight revolution proves that wrong some LED bulbs will have a good cut off line to prevent oncoming traffic from being blinded watch the video with the GTR bulb… also depends where you are for the legality of it.

that being said yes proper housings is a better option but also over double the price. And projector retrofits are not worth the time with OEM housing options

They may be able to get a good cut off, but the beam pattern is wrong. Reflector housings are designed around the shape of an incandescent filament, which is thin and curved, and puts out more light in the middle of the filament than the ends. No LED will ever match that exactly the same.

That’s true the legality may vary, but in the US, Canada, EU, GB, and Australia they’re illegal. I’m sure we have a some people here from other locations, but likely very few.

In canada it is not illegal only HIDs are illegal in reflector housings or atleast my province.
