Hi everyone. I've been lurking this site ever since I started researching and ordering our truck. I've learned alot from the staff and members here and want to thank everyone. I ordered in April. It's been built and has an estimated delivery Aug 3. I'm not holding my breath on that date but it's been nice to see it slowly progress. I also feel terrible for everyone who ordered before me and hope they get delivered soon. It boggles my mind how random it seems.
I've never bought anything brand new. It's always had 15-20K miles on it and a couple of years old. When looking for another slightly used truck the prices were almost as much as a brand new truck. When my older son who works for Jeep got me a huge discount and the crazy price they are giving for a trade ins, I pulled the trigger.
Since I'm getting closer to retiring and this will probably be the last truck I own, I decided to get something I'll never have to say I wish I got this or that. I ordered a 2500 Limited Mega Cab 6.4 Hemi Billet Silver Night Edition with Ramboxes. I pretty much checked every option avail including Off Road pkg and 4.10 gears (I eventually want 35s so planned ahead). I got the hemi because it will be my daily driver and I only live 10 minutes from work.
At first I plan on just doing things to preserve/protect the truck. I know it's a truck and it will get used, scratched, and dinged but I want to do what I can. Salt and brine during the winter months are hard on vehicles here. I'm going to get the truck a Boss Wax n Oil procedure done first thing at a place in Michigan. Next I'm getting all front critical areas PPF'd and whole truck creamic coated. Finally ceramic tint to protect interior and mud flaps.
I do eventually plan on buying a small 5er (dealership is installing 5th wheel prep pkg and going to use Reese Revoultion or something similiar with ramboxes) to take grandkids camping every once in a while.
