Help, towing insight

alright guys, flame me but need some insight. Not that experienced with towing and weight set up…

Family and I are moving from Florida to Tn. My wife’s Q8 48 volt generator failed. It’s going to take 30-60 days to get the parts so I’m forced to tow it from my parents Cape Coral Fl to Nashville Tn. Renting a uhual trailer.

My issues are this, my truck is packed with valuables, Ammo and other things. Probably several hundreds lbs in the bed, plus more in the cab. With the weight of the Q8 and trailer, the trailer weight will be close to its max. Since I don’t know exactly how much weight I have in the bed I’m curious if I should move some to the Q8 on the trailer.

Here’s some stats:
19 2500 Mega Cab Diesel
Rear Air Suspension- factory
Q8 weighs just over 5000lb
Trailer 2210 lbs
Trailer max 7500 lbs

Am I overthinking this deal and leave everything where it is and roll out or should I move some weight from the bed to the Q8?

More info, I’m flying my wife and kids so they’re not on the road which was plan all along so it’ll just be my Dad and I driving in the truck. Truck is tuned with mild tow tune

I’d rather overthink than not and run into an issue.

Sounds like your trailer is the weakest link...Do they rent a 10k trailer?? If so, load up the Audi and hit the road.

Everything went great. Truck handled it like it wasn’t even there, avg 13 mpg hauling pretty good. Ended up driving straight through. Really happy with this truck. Only issue I have is my tires are now feathered all around with minor vibrations at hwy speed which is weird, it started after the trailer was off it, return pressures to what I normally have them set at. They’re 37x12.50/17 Recons. Rode very smooth the whole trip, maybe my alignment is jacked and I didn’t know it, weight magnified it.

Anyway, thanks for the help. Loving this truck even more now

I'm torn between those and a set of factory beadlocks. the wider salta's will likely be the choice for next wheel.
