HELP - CEL P24C9 & P24B5 CODES:

Hey man, have you heard or ran into problems replacing the sensor.? I have pb blaster on it now and next step is heating it up w butane torch but I couldn’t break it loose w opened end wrench ordered the sensor socke. Also did you have to drop the exhaust to get the module loose?
How’d the sensor replacement go? My truck threw the same codes again but I’m out of warranty. I see the part is available online so I’m gonna attempt the replacement. Did you need to drop the exhaust?

Waking a dead thread, my 23 Ram 2500 just threw these codes. Not part of the TSB according to the website and NHTSA lookup. Did anyone have luck with just the new sensor install?

Lol not a dead thread now, I'm at 141,000 km and just had a great timed regen that really cleared out the DPF (5% at start now, haven't seen that in years). Then today poof threw two codes when reversing in my driveway, the same old P24B5 and P24C9.

I've cleared them for now and will monitor. May look at removing and cleaning the sensor but this seems to always happen in the winder (yuck).

My 2023 just threw a P24B0: Particulate Matter Sensor Circuit Low (Voltage). Similar to the code you are talking about. The sensor tripped driving through heavy melting snow splash back. Mine has 72K miles and has never had a problem regening until now. I'm at 99% full and I think the CEL won't let it regen. I'm ordering the sensor from mopar for $170.

I wanted to make sure I could remove it before I ordered a new one. I just got the 68354201AB sensor out in 30min without dropping anything on the exhaust or cross members. The part unscrewed from the exhaust with a normal open end & pb blaster and maybe 40 ft.lbs. The harness nuts came off with a 10mm 1/4 ratchet with hands reaching up around both sides of the SCR. The wiring clip was different but not too bad. The whole yellow clip slides out maybe 1/2" and then the plug just slides out. BTW the sensor end of mine was totally clean and clear. Everything looked totally clean and intact.

I've seen people paying $750 at the dealer for this, and that is ridiculous, given the new sensor fixes my problem. If I doesn't, I'll report back. If I had the sensor in hand, it would have taken less than an hour.

Also, it hadn't come out with the open end wrench, I would have cut the sensor sheath and used a regular 24mm long socket. A pneumatic hammer blast would have broken any rust. Sometime you need to give penetrating oil a day to work.

I’ve left mine all winter, mostly due to too damn cold but also as a test. The only thing it did was prevent us from using remote start. Otherwise truck ran fine, regen’d without issue and mileage was normal.

Once the weather warms up I’ll get around to replacing it.
