Upgraded to my first 2500 diesel, a 2020 granite crystal metallic 2500 Laramie lvl 2 with the 6.7 Cummins, from a 19 1500 granite crystal metallic Laramie lvl 1 with the 5.7 hemi, and I'm loving it so far!
Got the 1500 mostly for boxes and home depot runs, and wasn't really towing anything other than small utility trailers from the local landscape places. We picked up a project camper/trailer that I felt was within capacity but I didn't really understand payload, or that RAMs in general had the lowest payload numbers on average out of the big 3. Trailer is 30ft frame (26ft box) with a gvwr of 6990 and an unloaded tongue weight of 600lbs
Did some learning, and some weighing.. and realized that 900lbs payload didn't leave a lot of room to bring both the trailer and the family. I would have to choose which of the two to bring with me, or else it was time for an upgrade!
