New to the Forum. Currently Driving an 06 5.9L that has 450k on it. Although it still runs great the body is falling apart. Ordered a new Bighorn 2500 night Edition with no idea when it will arrive. Thanks for the add!

Hello from Ontario, Canada

Welcome aboard!!

Lots of interesting reading ahead.

And of course, nail biting Endless Wait for the New Build to make its way up the North.

I dont believe you alberta vehicles dont rot….. lol at least thats what most of my fellow onterrible people think…

They use salt (and sand) in winter time, but not as much on the East of Canada.
Don't know if it's an urban legent or what, but everyone I know says not to buy used vehicles from Ontario as they're rust buckets.

The common theory here is Alberta does not use salt ( i know they do but much less than here) in ontario unless you undercoat the **** out your vehicles they will rot quickly i have seen vehicles less than 3 years old starting to bubble the paint where rust has started…. Its not an urban legend they just love salt and liquid calcium here …. Never buy a used vehicle from onterible is great advice

this is the salt spray from just one day after washing it…. The dump trailer in the back is a 2011 it has almost no paint left on it and very little salt use 3-4 times per winter

More salt use in cities than on highways.
Last couple of winters they were spraying liquid calcium chloride in Edmonton which caused turmoil and municipal government caved in and stopped it, went back to salt. That **** ruined all the chrome on my wife's infinity, took me over a week of cleaning and polishing to rid of all the green corrosion from chrome trim pieces, that stuff is nasty!

Yea tell me about it and they will lay that liquid if they even think it will snow so it eats through cars fast

Everyone here in Alberta wants to do a buck 10 to 20 even in the winter after a snow. They need salt and rock to have a chance to stay between the white lines. My nearest secondary hi way is soo rough the plow trucks don’t want to bang down it so they will spread over several inches of snow . If the sun comes out your driving through 3‘’ of brown $#!tmeal:mad:.

I'm missing the brown $#!tmeal, I used to work on AB oilfield and driving through it was almost daily occurence, lol
