Hey guys, I’m about to be a new owner, and wanted to say hi. So just a quick back story, back in ‘06, I bought a new 2500 Cummins. A little over a year ago, one of the valves decided to break apart and destroy a piston and cylinder. To me it wasn’t worth it to fix it, so I traded my broken truck in on a new Ram 1500 5.7. I figured since I don’t tow as much as I used to, stepping down to a 1500 seemed reasonable. I love the new interior and style, but never really loved the truck. Totally regretted not getting another 2500. After 49 weeks of the 1500 ownership, this happened. There’s well over $18k in damage. They’re not going to total it, but I don’t want it back. That led me here. At least this gave me a good reason to get rid of it and get back to a 2500. Sweet!! I’m just waiting on the dealer, but getting a ‘20 2500 6.4, white with the night package. So jazzed! I look forward to learning more and appreciate all the knowledge here. Thank you guys for sharing!

I was thinking about that old adage re things happening in threes... Naw, superstitious hoo-ha - you'll be fine. Welcome to HDRams!

Thanks guys! A pisser about the whole thing is that the $4400 lift, tires & wheels were only 5 weeks old.

Well I finally found it. The sales mgr at the dealership told me there was a hold on the HD’s for a recall or something so it took a while. While I was waiting I also decided that a silver one would work too. But a white one popped up first. It is so nice to be back in a 2500! I don’t miss my 1500 at all. So jazzed about it!E30326D0-097B-4269-86D4-6405E8AE7156.jpeg2A512B70-4791-4F62-B7ED-BDD208927437.jpeg

Great looking truck, that black and white color combo really pops. Welcome to the forum. There’s lots of good guys on here to chat with. I see you have a heavy duty hitch, what are you towing ?

Thanks man, I appreciate that! 24’ trailer and Jeep. They both sit a lot more than get used anymore, but that’s what the hitch is for. I usually leave it in as added protection for the back end. Loaded trailer with Jeep and gear is around 8k lbs give or take.D6D0344E-9D2D-4B82-A211-B581225F8141.png

Thanks man! It’s a ‘69 Jeepster Commando. It has the original Buick 225 v6. I swapped out the original t14 tranny & Dana 20 transfer case to a sm420/ twin stick d300 combo. Dana 44’s f&r, 4.56 gears and lockers f&r. I added power steering and a hydraulic clutch. The pic above has 35’s but now it has 37” tires. It’s my desert/rock toy.
