Heated steering wheel question

I’m not sure there’s anything wrong with it, but I want to be sure.

For those of you with a Limited or Longhorn, does the heat on the steering wheel have a dead spot at the bottom of the wood section on both sides, about 2” tall right where the wood meets the leather?
 
The heat is not on the entire circumference of the wheel. Mostly on the sides.
 
Yep, and it takes considerably longer for that fancy (wood) part of the steering wheels to heat up. When it's -30 and the truck's been running a while, it's less noticeable.
 
Glad to hear it’s not just me. The sides and top get plenty warm, it’s just that small section at the transition that doesn’t. It’s not the “normal” spot to hold the wheel, but for some reason on the Ram I find my hands gravitating there. Oh well, it’s warming up so I’ll soon forget about this until next winter!

It was -30C here Saturday night so it was the get up every couple hours-look at the back end of a cow game :( But it will be spring in a couple of months yay:rolleyes:
 
Just tried my heated steering wheel out on my Limited and I got heat all the way around. Going to check it with an infrared thermometer to be sure.
 
Ours seems to have areas that get warm faster and others not so much but I do not leave it on very long
 
The steering wheel gets warm first where the center hub arms connect to the outer rim of the steering wheel.
