Hello people,
I have a 21 2500 it’s a major upgrade from my 05 Ram. Anyway it has more bells and whistles than I’m used to. So my question is when I use the heated steering wheel sometimes it doesn’t activate. Would that be a software issue?
Thanks for the help.

Welcome. Pretty sure that’s a symptom of a faulty clock spring in the steering wheel. Others should chime in.

Well I made an appointment at the dealer where I bought it for the 12th. It’s a bit of a hike from my house but I don’t trust any Ram dealers around here.
Would this be covered under any manufacturer warranty?

My truck has 71K on it.

Can I ask why you don't trust the other dealers? I bought mine from another state, so I have no choice really, but to use the local dealership here (which is fine by me). At 71 K, it wouldn't be under warranty I think, unless you bought an extended thing. I have a 2014, but I bought the LIFETIME warranty from Dodge, so things like that are covered, but I have to Pay $100 deductible (which I just did recently when the camera needed to be replaced).

I’ve been in the car business for close to 30 years. The one Dodge Jeep dealership near me I’ve never been a fan of. They scammed a lot of people and recently had their Chevy Dealership taken from them due to fraud.
The dealership down south of me is small. My friend had his car there for a PCM replacement and since there is no parking a trash truck hit it.
The last Dodge dealership my friend had his 22 6.7 there for an oil change and never locked it. So someone went through it and took what they could.
I bought mine at Freehold Dodge an hour away. They are decent. I did have an appointment 12-27 to wait for my truck repairs. When I got there the advisor told me that most of his Dodge techs called out and he couldn’t be sure that it would be looked at that day. Since I bought it there I do get a loaner so I just rescheduled. I do know the used car manager at Freehold. We did business when I was running a local car auction.
So I think the repairs will be handled efficiently.

Wow you have some real characters at your local dealerships LOL! You mentioned Freehold, so I'm assuming you're somewhere in NJ. I left that state in 2012, probably the best thing I ever did LOL. Out here, there is only 1 dealership within 100 miles of me, so I literally have no choice anyway. But they're fine thankfully

Yes Sir
Moved here in 76. Lived in various spots but settled down in Marlton NJ. I would like to leave but the kid is almost done college and the wife wants to be close to her Mother.

Oh OK, for, whatever works for ya! I grew up in NY state, then lived in NJ from 1999-2012, then hightailed it out west. Have fun, man!

Update for those interested.
I took it to Freehold Dodge where I bought the truck in June 24. The clock spring is the issue so I had that replaced $137 for the part plus labor. It was also there for a shake at 48mph. I took the advisor for a ride and he felt it. While rebalancing the wheels they feel that I have a broken belt in one or more tires. They reached out to the manufacturer for a warranty claim. It was denied but the used car manager is taking care of it for me. I’ve know the manager for many years and grateful that he is doing this. So 4 new tires will be installed on Monday. So the hour drive up doesn’t hurt so bad. Plus I was able to get a loaner Subaru.
