Hello to all. I just registered for this forum. This will be my first Ram truck after many GM trucks and a Ford or two. I did buy a new Dakota right of high school many, many moons ago.

Ordered a 2022 3500 C/C Limited with std. hp Cummins and HD transmission back on December 6th. They're telling me it's scheduled to build on 2/14 so we'll see.

I guess I'll jump on one of the new build/order threads and try to follow. I now have my VIN.

Well I picked up the truck yesterday. I'd say it's been a long wait, 4 months, but I know many have waited longer and some are still waiting so I'm not complaining.

I'm coming out of 4 straight GM LTZ or High Country trucks so I've grown used to bells and whistles. Both my wife and I agree the first impression of the Ram is that it is very well done. Being a Limited truck, it's got everything we need, everything we want and then some. We just drove it home yesterday since it had a piece of cardboard taped to the back window but so far we just feel like the interior is more well appointed than the GM's we've had. When my wife even is even making those comments, someone has done something right!

Things I've already noticed are:
1. Visibility is much better than the '21 GM
2. I can see over the mirrors, eliminating 2 huge blind spots
3. I like the placement of some of the controls better
4. The center console seems to be more well thought out
5. Power ports seem to be everywhere so hopefully we won't be constantly searching for another place to plug something in
6. I think the ability to create a flat rear floor will come in handy at times. No idea why GM couldn't come up with that
I know there's more, that's just some things that come to mind right away.

One thing that I do need to address, does anyone know how to defeat that damnedable fasten seat belt chime? That is one thing that GM did right. It gave you a warning but didn't continue to annoy the hell out of you.

All in all, seems like a great truck and definitely an upgrade. We'll know more about towing in about a week. I'm sure it'll be fine.

Congratulations on your new truck. You mentioned that you got the heavy duty tranny with the standard output 6.7 . I didn't think you could get that tranny without the HO motor . At least that is how it worked in the past .

Correct, AISIN tranny only available with the HO CTD.

It's because it's a chassis cab

Yip, Superjoe83 got it. You can get the Aisin without the HO in a chassis cab truck. And to be even more accurate, the chassis cab comes with a slightly detuned engine with a bit less power than the SO engine. I think it's 10 HP less and 50 lb/ft less torque. I'm hoping the durability of this combo will be unmatched as well as good for the best mpg too.

Technically, "can get" is a bit misleading.

The CC trucks only come with an Aisin. AS69RC with Cummins, AS66RC with Hemi.

No other trans offered.

You are correct. When you select the CTD option on a chassis cab build, it automatically spends another $1000 of your money on the Aisin tranny.
