Has anybody installed a Door Keypad??

Just curious, have you tried getting out while it’s running and locking the door with your keys and walking away. I know my truck keeps running if I get out and walk away with the keys in my pocket, I just haven’t tried locking it while it’s running.
I have to admit that I haven't. I know that I can close the door and walk away while it's running, but I must admit to not having tried hitting the lock button. If I recall, remote start locks the doors, so there is always that mode...

Yeah I do that all the time when my daughter wants to hang out in the truck while I run into a store or gas station.

I do it all the time picking up and dropping off my kids at daycare. It won't lock using the lock switch in the truck, only locks with the fob button.

OK, so one use case is out of the way, as when the truck is running the fob is always with me. But my other use case (just getting into the truck for one reason or another without wanting to start it and drive away, eg, using it as a garage remote or as a "safe" storage) still remains. It was a really nice feature that I used all the time on my Ford. Come on manufacturers, you "borrow" features from each other all the time! Why not this one? Grumble grumble. I know that not everyone thinks that this is necessary, but that's true for just about every feature! And I also agree with others that it doesn't make the truck any less secure, since the brick through the window is always there if some really wants to get in your truck.
