H.O. vs STD. Output

The Ram had 4.10s, which were the lowest(highest numerically)of the three. Whether we like their methodology or not, they treated them the same, point it up the hill, and stand on it. Other than to fight off gear hunting, which was not an issue, there should be no reason to futz around with a properly dialed in automatic on that uphill pull. There was actually some controversy that they had used ACC on the Ram on the downhill side, and whether it was applying the brakes rather than them having to make manual brake applications, thus leading to the zero brake applications. That really was never answered, that I am aware of. I am sure the Cummins exhaust brake would outperform the others, and wish they would have re-run the test, just to clear that up.

Oh and I agree, the Tremor vs Powerwagon thing make me want to puke. Apples and oranges.

Have you pulled heavy with it? Does it still pull the same?
That last tank must have been a miracle tank. Yesterday with an 8' tall load that weighed 15K total was 10.8 mpg. Then I moved an 18K low load around for only 100 miles. The lie o'meter says I was getting 11.0 on that. Will calc that one out when I fill up in a couple hours.

Other things that ate unknown are outdoor temperature, wind speed, did an early tester not run the ac where the late test run ran with ac. Really and truly , all these things make a huge difference. We used to drag race our commercial trucks every morning at 1 am for 10 miles up and down the mountains of tn. I know how sweet is that 30 trucks launching off on the interstate and battling out, that was my life for 25 yrs. Any way, our trucks had Cummins in them. If I had the ac on, it slowed down, if I didn't hit the exact line and hit the rumbles, it slowed down, if i had zig zag lights on and radio and all exterior lighting and work lights, yes it slowed down. Windows up or down it slows down. So yes, i was that guy starring off 8th every morning and by the time we got to the top of the mountain to fall off the back side i smoked them all. Windows up, ac off , all lights( including head lights, i had the moon) turned off. and I'm not talking about a marginal difference, I'm talking about making up 3/4 Of a mile on the leader. During the day time when we all ran ac, lights, pto, forget about it, we were all the same. All had same motor and tranny, gear and all tq and top speed was set in our shop the same on lap top. So, my point is, we will never know all the criteria met during testing, and it all makes a huge difference. Yes i loved my Job

Perhaps your post was intentional to discuss A/C, but he referred to the ACC used on the downhill test. ACC = Adaptive Cruise Control.
