Grid Heater Relay Recall

Yup. Dealer won’t release my 22 limited until it’s repaired

Just picked up my new ‘22 yesterday. How is the recall already complete if the part is in development? Will try to look at this week in daylight.

Got my notice yesterday for my 2021. I called my service department and he verified the repair. However, he then called the parts manager to check on parts, and was told the parts would not be available until February 2022.

My grid heater relay is now disconnected from the battery, and will stay that way until parts are available.

Not if you disconnect it from the battery-

This is what I did. Disconnect the wire attached to the battery terminal, where the arrow is pointing to:

I covered the loose end of the wire with the finger off a rubber glove and taped it up. I then zip tied the end to the fender strut to keep it from touching anything. Jimmy07 says disconnecting at the terminal will not throw a code. This has to be better than parking the truck outside and hoping it doesn't spontaneously combust.

That sucks I picked mine up yesterday but they were calling me during my flight to tell me not to go down. Was "fixed" when i landed so who knows, nobody knew what the fix was and someone was suppose to ask the mechanic that fixed it to let me know but i haven't heard back. If it catches fire i have a nice lawsuit since it was sold after the stop sale order.

Will they disconnect the relay diesel_driver_3500 has done and allow you to take it that way? No chance of a fire with it disconnected and won't throw a code according to Jimmy07. Not sure how cold of a climate you live in but so long as it doesn't freeze you should be ok

Anything above 10*F you will be ok from my exp i usually skip the preheat cycle but any colder than that it will struggle to start

Got the appointment to fix the recall. It is still a month out. Anyone know what the fix is?

Live in Massachusetts. Dealer refuses to touch it until a engineer from stellantis calls them. No eta when that will happen. Escalated a case with ram today . I asked them to unplug it multiple times since my truck came with block heater kit
