Got 60k miles out of my original Firestone Transforce AT's. No complaints, never got stuck in mud or sand and they towed our 9k pound camper just fine. They got several punctures though; nails, screws, a piece of barbwire. I was able to patch each time, but I felt like the TransForce's were just a little weak as far as avoiding punctures.

I want to replace with a same size, similar tire, maybe a little more aggressive tread for dirt roads and less focused on towing because we sold the camper. I only bumper pull a flat trailer a handful of times a year now. If I could get a more comfortable ride that would be great. I live in coastal bend Texas, so winter/snow capabilities are not important. I do not need to get 60k miles again, 50k would be good. Also, I really liked the white letters on the Transforce tires, and I want my new tires to have the white letters show; matches my white truck.

I really like Discount Tire. They are conveniently located for me, I am a loyal customer and have them cover all four of our vehicles' tires. So, I want to stick with them and their warranty.

Thinking it will between these two tires:

Any experience or reason to avoid either of these tires?

I just switched from the Transforce to the BFGoodrich KO3 and couldn’t be anymore happy with my decision. I expected these tires to have a little more road noise due to being more aggressive but they are quieter than the Transforce even running them at a higher pressure. Good luck in your search

The Firestone Destinations are one of the tires I am really interested in when I replace my tires in the fall.

The thing that I noticed about them is the sipes are full depth. I have a picture of a well worn one that still has sipes so it should still have good traction.

Others I am looking at:
Bridgestone Ascent (60k warranty)
Cooper Stronghold
BFG KO3
Goodyear workhorse AT2

The Mickey Thompson Baja AT would be interesting if it wasn’t so heavy it’s 66 pounds.

Interestingly the Destination is the lightest at 50 pounds (275/70R18).

Not judging here, but you might be the first person I have heard that specifically wants white lettering since the 90’s lol

It’s definitely not common like it used to be.
Lol I was waiting for that. early 80's baby with 90's fashion, I'm bringing it back baby!!!

Nah, I guess I just got accustomed to the white letters on the tires that came on the truck.

At least I'm not looking for full white walls on a 4 door boat like my parents said they wanted in the 50's.
