This is kind of a neat feature in some GM trucks.

Basically the back of the crew cab folds down to expand access to the bed, sort of like a hatchback.

I am not going to buy an EV, but I like the idea. Wonder what it would take to do something to a ram 2500 / 3500 to gain more access between the compartments ?

For instance for use with a topper or other camping type use.

I am not as experienced with trucks as you are, so I am not aware of all of the features of other brands and challenges.

To me, it is an indication that the crew size cabs are still not large enough. My use goal is more family style than traditional pick up rear seats that are not really designed for people in back to be comfortable / lean back. If RAM offered a vehicle the same size as a megacab 3500 srw that looked like a suburban, I would seriously look at it - but they don't, so I have to work with what is offered.

Starting with what is actually available, and modify where possible.

The Sierra line has some interesting features that are kind of interesting, also some real challenges - but all trucks seem to.

The avalanche has been notorious for leaks, this design to me is less than ideal when you can just get out of the vehicle and access the box. I don’t see any advantage to this design other than you can haul longer things without needing a long box or a trailer but I still prefer having the long box or the trailer lol.

If they brought back the Ram Charger that would be awesome! Basically it was a large bronco

Yes, but that does not help at all with trying to expand the limited space in the cab by easier access to the box / topper area.

Only the megacab helps with this need, and those are not widely available across brands, or even within the ram offering.

The ram chargers that I have seen in the past were not the equivalent of a megacab and the existing short bed in terms of length and space. Just baby size trucks - not really for families, but maybe some existed in that total length.

How much more room do you need in a cab? It’s a pickup truck if you wanted tons of room like a suburban buy a suburban. Call me crazy but I have no need for any extra room with my CCLB what do you need to store in the cab that needs more room full size adults fit in the back comfortably And the box is easier to access from the tailgate than it is from folding the rear seats down.

Perhaps I'm not understanding what makes that platform better if you care to elaborate your thoughts.
