My comment was to your statement, which held no nuance. If you are going to add nuance that my position can also adjust. I never claimed that, in 2024, ideological extremists are equal in number, but I presume you weren't either since your meme had imagery from the 2020 "summer of love" riots (although I'm not sure if all images were from that specific point in time). I could point to many "right-wing extremists" that you may or may not feel are truly right-wing. I could point to many "left-wing extremists", that you may agree with.I think any ideology has "extremists" but in 2024 it's absolutely absurd to think all "extremists" are equal in numbers, and more important, ACT in equal ways.
It is easy to demonstrate that is not the case.
I think the issue is that we tend to "defend our own", or not see the issues because we are too focused on "the other side", and that is an issue. As a quick counter point, while we can likely both agree that left-wing acts have resulted in millions, or even billions of dollars in losses in the 2020 riots, there are a great many right-wing acts that have resulted in the bulk of deaths (in the US) in terms of extremists movements. Again, you may say that you disagree with the specific listings, but those appear to be the facts when you look at the numbers by and large. There is also a troubling issue that right-wing extremists are generally more deadly, in part due to their use of firearms, which is highly problematic as someone who is a staunch 2A absolutists (I believe that everyone should be able to own any weapon, up to nuclear devices, which I don't believe anyone should own but you can't close pandoras box).
I'm also reading between the lines here and I don't think your intent is a discussion, but rather simply an opportunity for you to vocalize your views that "one side good, one side bad, and I'm on the right side".
