Get well soon Prez Trump

I think any ideology has "extremists" but in 2024 it's absolutely absurd to think all "extremists" are equal in numbers, and more important, ACT in equal ways.

It is easy to demonstrate that is not the case.
My comment was to your statement, which held no nuance. If you are going to add nuance that my position can also adjust. I never claimed that, in 2024, ideological extremists are equal in number, but I presume you weren't either since your meme had imagery from the 2020 "summer of love" riots (although I'm not sure if all images were from that specific point in time). I could point to many "right-wing extremists" that you may or may not feel are truly right-wing. I could point to many "left-wing extremists", that you may agree with.

I think the issue is that we tend to "defend our own", or not see the issues because we are too focused on "the other side", and that is an issue. As a quick counter point, while we can likely both agree that left-wing acts have resulted in millions, or even billions of dollars in losses in the 2020 riots, there are a great many right-wing acts that have resulted in the bulk of deaths (in the US) in terms of extremists movements. Again, you may say that you disagree with the specific listings, but those appear to be the facts when you look at the numbers by and large. There is also a troubling issue that right-wing extremists are generally more deadly, in part due to their use of firearms, which is highly problematic as someone who is a staunch 2A absolutists (I believe that everyone should be able to own any weapon, up to nuclear devices, which I don't believe anyone should own but you can't close pandoras box).

I'm also reading between the lines here and I don't think your intent is a discussion, but rather simply an opportunity for you to vocalize your views that "one side good, one side bad, and I'm on the right side".

You are drawing a parallel between party extremes which simply doesn't exist.

Your long, drawn out post is an attempt to sit on the fence and play both sides as a "libertarian" which is laughable at best, detrimental to US civics at worst.

In this world, there is a right and a wrong. Moral and political relativism is why this country is where it is in 2024. You are correct in your last sentence at least -- In modern (last couple decades) politics -- one side good, the other bad. That's pretty easy to see.

Get off the fence, friend.

Sad that this is what our country has become. We will NEVER be the United States again. That’s happens when the government that we vote for and pay for does not have the citizens best interest in mind. Affirmative action, welfare, handouts and carve outs for every organization under the sun have divided this country beyond repair. IMO. Having served in the military, two uncles served, both grandfathers pilots in WW2, and currently my son is in the US Army as an engineering officer, at it makes me very sad and angry what we have become.

Back to the topic of this thread. Get well President Trump. A true patriot and lover of this country who put it all on the line to try and save something for his grandchildren to inherit. Wishing peace and prosperity to all of you HD Rammers, and God’s blessings.

Please feel free to elaborate. I'm simply stating the facts as they are. There may be a larger number of left-wing extremists, but the data I've seen indicates that the fewer number of right-wing extremists put more bodies in the ground. I'm simply trying to illustrate that you can play these games both ways. I'll extend an olive branch and say that my general feeling is that the core of the "left wing" of our political system has shifted far further left than the comparison right wing. I would argue that both parties have shifted, but the right appears to be a far more subtle shift overall.

Attempting to tell me I'm somehow a detriment to our system because I hold a belief outside the two parties if laughable. The two party system is currently completely laughable at best. Our current choice for commander in chief are 2 ~80 year old men, one of which is a free lipped narcissist, and the other that's years into dementia. Somehow choosing to support neither system that allowed these men to be put in place, or backing the people that pushed for their names on the ballot somehow makes me party to ruining our system?

I also can't stand this comment about "sitting on the fence", what fence? You get to decide that I get a choice between red or blue and if I refuse to play the game I'm somehow sitting on the fence? It would be one thing if I said that I refused to make a decision, I did not. I simply made a choice outside the bounds of a game you refuse to see out of.

Morals are deeply personal, and they are not strictly shared across even those within the country, let alone your given state, county, city, neighborhood, church, friend group, maybe even your own home assuming you have a wife/husband and children. While we do need some sort of shared agreement on what is legal, we have no shared morality. Even churches don't have a shared morality, as there are literally thousands of sects of Christianity alone, all with varying beliefs, morals, and codes.

Well said and so true.

I was really shocked to see the video of her (I assume) asking where to go, unable to holster her weapon, etc. Just basic training stuff.

My first TO on patrol training was pretty good w a gun, she was kinda a ghetto gun slinger from East LA, I always enjoyed when she rubbed my leg softy but cringed when she chewed Tobacco….she got caught taking psych meds and cutting herself so that was the end of her career…kinda felt bad for her- same prick that got me an IA case did her in too.
