I have a 2022 6.7 i have mounted a 41 gal. auxiliary tank in the bed but am hesitant to cut the filler neck and plumb the fuel into it as i've heard i may get a warning light come on. Would like to know if anyone has had issues with this i had done this with a previous truck and no problems.

I have installed the aux fuel tank kit into the filler neck on my last three Ram Cummins equipped trucks (2013, 2016 and 2022). I have never gotten any warning lights or had any issues. I use the RDS kit: https://rdsaluminum.com/rds-parts.html

Just follow the instructions for orientation, etc.

No warnings on my 19. I believe its only the GMs that get a warning light

I have added aux tanks to my last two Rams. Rather than cut the fill pipe and getting all the filings in the tank I opted for a different route. I found it easier to just remove fill pipe and weld a pipe bung into it, this adding a hose barb. I also added a low pressure inline transfer pump and a motorized ball shut off valve at my aux tank, all this is attached to my auxiliary switch on the dash. Need fuel, hit the dash switch.

Why would you get filings in the tank? If you were smart you would remove the filler neck then cut it…

If you're removing the pipe then why not do it right. Just saying. That's the way I do it, maybe not your way.

Both ways are “right” so long as a roll over valve is used

So do you have both solenoid shut off valve & pump wired to the same switch? I was wondering if this was possible, gravity feed & messing with that manual valve is getting tedious.

That's how I did it on my '22.

I used a motorized ball valve. It doesn't pull as much to stay open therefore doesn't get hot like a solenoid valve might. Both valve and pump wired together to aux switch.
