Fuel rail pressure to low

The weird thing about it is, This happened before I took the truck to the dealership for 20 day, Got truck back it worked fine for 4 days and then started happening again
There seems to be some more things going on than meets the eye.. maybe they re-flashed the truck (something that is a no go if your tuned in many instances) or possibly could be something more sinister at play.

With a 30hp tune it should be enough fuel from the stock lift pump but you cannot rule it out as if you have ever seen yourself or read logs from a monitor, you will note that the stock fuel pressure coming from the stock lift pump gets dangerously low and it is not uncommon at all for the engine to stumble or cut power when the fuel pressure drops to say 2lbs versus the 11+ it should be at for the requested power.
Fair point, any way i think a few emails to Chester with the data log and he will be in business

Ooof CCS is garbage. A little tiny bit of research on CUMMINS FORUMS and you can find the best in the business that tunes Cummins.

I’m getting the ccs tune taken out and another one put in. Hopefully that’s my issue

Good. When I was looking I read some horror stories on ccs with fueling, boost and trans tuning.

Idk where you are seeing that all i have found were nothing but great reviews and thats what all the local shops use for deleting customers vehicles without any issue…. Optimal welding and CPS is a different story though

I’ve had both OW and CCS and compared to the tuning I have now, their trans tuning was less than desirable. Shifting was slow and sluggish. My rail pressure with my fass 165 and 10mm CP3 on my 2020 never reached desired. I was always 4K low on PSI. 29k desired, actual was 25k. It surged like a mfr all the time.

With this tuning now, shifts are crisp and fast, my rail pressure reaches 29.5k actual. It’s faster and smokes way less. So my experience with both of them sucked. The customer service was decent. But the tuning for my truck was trash.

OW tuned my truck 10 times and couldnt get it right. CCS tuned it 4 times and couldn’t get it right.

So I gave up and went with the Cummins guru who’s been an approved tuner for many competition trucks and transmissions.

Maybe other have had luck. But when they put a tune in their truck from a tuner who actually knows what he’s doing, they will know immediately what I’m talking about.

It was a dramatic and instant improvement in drivability from the moment I loaded the tune.

And obviously I’m not the only one who had problems. Hints to why he’s on here. I won’t give the forum name, but once you find out, you can read testimonials ALL DAY EVERY DAY on people leaving OW, CCS and a few others.

There has been only a couple tuners who were able to get the 10mm cp3 to do what it needed to do in higher power tunes including lots of very reputable tuners and industrial injection so i would not blame CCS in anyway especially the fact that the CP3 was never made to run those pressures really

He never did the data log and send off for a good custom tune clearly thats the issue i am seeing

Ok, well yes that’s basic for sure. Gotta send off a good data log. The CP3s are now modified to run those pressures easily. Between what S&S and industrial makes, with the over driving and 1.5x engine speed. They can easily reach 29k psi and more.

My tuner did it with the first tune. I just told him what I have, and he sent the file. So why it was so hard for ccs and ow, I have no idea. Maybe they just don’t have the platform or knowledge about the platform for their tuning.

it's hard for some tuners because they're hacks. they don't invest time to learn.

So you probably went with DRD I'm guessing.

I went from OW to CCS. I "thought" the OW tune was good. Night and day better. They got it right the first time and could tell immediately it was way more refined. However I'm not going for a race truck.

Or swapping fuel pumps.

Lol.

Well I’m glad you had luck with CCS. All personal experiences for me.

Some people may even like the way OW tunes. Idk who would, but everyone has their own cup of tea.
