Has anyone actually had the faulty high pressure fuel pump replaced under warranty? I supposedly am in line for one in Nov. I have my doubts my dealer is going to get the part.

Do some searches lots have been changed already

I am #246 on the list at the local dealer. They told me they are getting about 2 fuel pumps a week. So mine should be done in a couple years or so.

That's nuts...totally unacceptable considering the possible severity of a pump failure... Good luck

lol what are they supposed to do? Just pull a new one outta their butts?

Maybe ramp up production of the pump? How many years should it take complete a recall?

My check engine light came on and the code was “P2459-00 Diesel particulate filter regeneration frequency”. The dealer just told me they need to replace the high-pressure fuel pump, do two flashes, and replace the engine filter. They said if that doesn’t resolve the issue they’ll probably need to replace the DPF system.

They already had to replace my DEF pump and a warped rambox lid, among other things, and my truck only has 7k miles on it. Seems pretty ridiculous to me how many times it’s been at the dealership to be fixed when it’s this new of a truck.

So what happens when the DEF pump goes bad? I assume you can't drive the truck until it's replaced. I'm still waiting for the DPF. My truck has been sitting at the dealership for 5 weeks. The emissions on these things have made them impractical to own for a part time long hauler.

For mine, I only had 2k miles on my truck and while driving, the DEF gauge instantly dropped from 3/4 full to empty and my truck displayed a message that told me to refill my DEF tank. Then it was either a few min later or the next time I started my truck that day that the DEF gauge was showing 3/4 full again. So I had the dealer check it out and they said the DEF pump was bad and they replaced it. I will say though that it seems like this dealership just replaces parts to see if that resolves whatever the issue is so who knows if the DEF pump really needed to be replaced or if something else had caused the issue, but I haven't had the issue again...yet.

Could have been the dealer cashing in on some warranty money. I don't trust them. Either way, on a long trip, it's not a comfortable feeling knowing that emissions problems can pop up anytime.

Yeah that can be a long wait. Seems like it was a year before they got one for me. Any air filter issues afterward? I got an engine light and they told me I had an aftermarket air filter, which I didn't. I replaced it anyway with another Mopar and the light stayed. It still isn't resolved. Last I heard was there is a newer version of the one I bought.

I also had a CEL for air filter problems. Dealer replaced the filter, at my cost, and trouble went away. Something with the gasket design I believe.

So my Y78 recall was completed before I purchased this 2020 2500. Does this mean I have the cp3 pump? I can’t find anyway to identify it and the dealer just says the pump was replaced and complied with Y78. This is what it looks like. I just need to know so my tuner can send me the proper tunes.A1F75B85-5A4C-4CD0-85E7-3E0C672EA044.jpeg
