I used a hose draining into a catchcan. The minute I loosened the cap the diesel started coming out of the threads as it continued to drain in the tube. When it quit draining, while finishing removing the cap, a boatload more fuel splashed out. My new thought for the next change is simple. My wife has really cool silicone bowls. The one that is big enough to contain the fuel filter and cap will mysteriously go missing. I will use it to squeeze and hold the cap while removing it. Catching all the fuel that wants to give me a shower. Eventually she will see it in the shop and proceed to replace it, cause once it hits the shop, it’s mine.
