Is there an aftermarket fuel cap for the “ capless “ fuel fill. The dirt/ gravel roads i drive on will pack the fill opening with dust & dirt. The doir gasket will not keep it out

I have a mopar cap on mine. It locks into place (detent, not a key) and has a magnet to hold it to the bed rail during refueling.

Aluminum DIESEL cap ONLY fit 2019-2022 Latest Dodge Ram 1500 2500 3500 …(There are three vertical plastic posts at the fuel filler) https://a.co/d/6zwTxJn

there is a secondary flap that seals under the first one there is no need for a cap plus the door has a gasket i drive on some horrible gravel roads with lots of dust and the inside of my fuel door never gets any dust in there…

Amazon has some cheap caps if you are really worried about it. I put one on that says diesel so if my wife ever fuels up she does not accidentally put gas in it

I need to look again, but I didn’t see a secondary flap on my ‘22 like there was on my ‘18. It was pretty obvious on the ‘18, but l couldn’t see it when fueling with a fuel can and funnel while elk hunting.

Genos makes both locking and non locking caps. I am running their non locking cap and have been happy with it. You simply place it on and twist to secure, also has a magnetic bottom so you can attach it to fuel door while filling.

Theres not.

Yep, nice thing is you do not have to lock them if you don’t want to, but the option is always there.

Approximately 40yrs ago I'm sitting on the couch watching morning cartoons & sucking down an ol school bale of shredded wheat. I hear my dad yelling up stairs, "Hey you little mutha effa, wtf are you doing to my car!?" The pita neighborhood hoodlum was dumping sugar into the gas tank of his '49 Plymouth. From that day fwd everything got locking caps. He was never big on spending $ for worthless crap, but he really didn't like having to pull a gas tank on a rainy PNW day. Cost of labor/repairs is nuts now as is the value of the fuel your hauling around. I really don't remember how much I paid for the Genos cap 3yrs ago.. But I'm sure I would remember for many years how much a contamination related repair wound up costing me..

The late model locking fuel cap is $67 and the locking DEF cap is $50. Not necessarily that cheap but looks like good stuff.

I just became a new Geno's customer this week. 2 rounds of fuel and oil filters was over $300 but about the best price I could find and they get enough good recommendations on this site that I was pretty sure I could trust them to be selling genuine parts and not cheap knockoffs.

+1 on the Geno's Cap, it keeps the vandals out and also adds an extra reminder for someone who might not normally drive the truck from putting the wrong fuel in.
