Hey guys, just curious here, I've upgraded from a 1500 Laramie to a 2024 PW Lunar...Im impressed with the truck. 450 miles so far.
Im doing 9, 9.2 in the city. Very soft accelerations... controlled braking to not loose momentum... man, whatever you can imagine to not hit the gas...I did.
Making 12 - 15 as many declared at this forum, sounds impossible for me in the city.
Is the engine that needs to be broke in?
Is it the fact I have 2 alternators ? (it shouldn't be noticeable... for a 6.4 litters )
Im using 2W, unlock axle light "on"

A real city grinding through traffic and constantly catching lights?

I’ll average 11-12 in town but I can go for pretty good stretches without stopping and there is rarely anything that looks like big city traffic.

Very light traffic, Chicago suburbs. I was doing 15 - 17 with my 1500s...

I'm lucky to get more than 13 on the highway.
City, Ha Ha Ha.
Really? ...are you towing something? 37s? leaking gas? OMG...
I need to embraced it and justify my acquisition spending 20G more in gear and bourbon and go camping and calling a good deal.

I would be happy with that.

I am doing 8-8.5 in stop and go..... the same as towing 13.5K

On longer drives I can squeeze 14-15 going about 75.

4:10 rears

I have 35s on mine and I can add 1/2 mpg the stated miles since my speedo is off by exactly 5 miles per every 100 miles driven. I usually get around 12.6 in most driving.

I have 37s and in the winter time driving around the Boston suburbs with very little highway driving + a good amount of traffic I see anywhere from 8-9 MPG. The remote start feature doesn't help when I warm up the truck for a few minues multiple times a day.

No towing. 35s.80K miles.
Heavy left foot.
Cruise at 80 MPH.

If I drive 65 or less, I can hit 16 MPG.

I also made the jump from a 1500 to my 2500 PW and was a bit surprised by the mileage. I'm pretty much around where you are, fwiw, 9-10 in town, 13-14 is about a best case on the highway at around 70-75ish. It's also winter, but i'm not too optimistic it'll climb much over next summer!

I will say, my Ram 1500 mileage improved once the truck hit 10k or so, but I had the very on-road Bridgestone Dueler's on my 1500, which likely helped a lot, but they'd probably look a little out of place on this truck.

Lunar is a great color by the way!

With what I haul all the time (RTT, rack, gear that stays on the truck) and the 37's I average 11-12 combined mileage, which includes remote warm ups right now. But mostly around town driving with a smattering of highway running where I try to keep it 70 mph or less... It may improve with modified driving habits

Drilling even further down I have found 72 to be the upper most limit for optimum fuel mileage. I have a 70 MPH road I do regularly, but on the freeway that is not happening obviously. Although big tows 12-15K I tried to really stay at 72MPH if I can.
