I have the front bracket and need to install to my front bumper for my state. I have the big plastic bracket, the torx screws for the plate, and 2 longer screws for the bracket itself. But the holes in the bumpber are way bigger than the screws. There are also 2 dimpled spots in the plastic piece, do those need to be drilled? Can anyone show me or describe how this fits?? Thanks!

Hmmmm. I didn’t get anything like that. Interesting because we are supposed to have plates on front in TX too.

On the back of the license plate bracket, there are two plastic nubs that go through the larger holes up top. When the screws go in, they flare open and hold the bracket in place. The two dimpled spots in the plastic down low is where the other two screws go. Shouldn't have to pre-drill, just push with some force.

Top just pushes in...I did pre drill the lowers just so there was no cracking with a tiny bit...

Isn't it about time you come off that plate since you quit jeepin'?
still offroad and 4x4...just do it in a power wagon. I have been offered money for my plate but kind of like it.

i bought a license plate fold down bracket and mounted it upside down. the bracket lines up perfect with the existing holes in the bumper so no drilling was required.
Now with the plate up, it covers the winch fairlead and hook. it also doesnt hang down low in harms way like the factory plastic mount.

Side note... adding a decorative license plate frame will interfere with the mount and can only fold down ~90 degrees. Can trim back the tab to allow it to fold all the way down if you like

Link to bracket from amazon.

is moving to a state that does not issue front plates an option?

Why didn't I think of that earlier?

Embarrassing part here is that I'm an engineer yet a bracket and set of screws had me stumped for a little while. Just wanted to be certain before I drilled anywhere!!

I'll have to do this as well. Front plate. required in MO. I forgot to tell Renae at MD to add it to my build.

Washington state requires a front plate but I never installed mine. Haven't gotten harassed yet! (now that I say this I'll likely be pulled over.....)

The sexy factor is increased 10x with a naked front bumper
