Does anyone know what style or type of plastic nut to use in order to mount a license plate on the front bumper of a `22 3500? My truck came with the factory license plate bracket kit….a massive injection molded chunk of black plastic that looks terrible on the front. I just want two of the basic plastic nutserts like my 2017 had. Only difference is my front bumper has two round holes that are about 3/8” DIA. The local auto stores only sell the plastic nutserts they are designed for a 1/4” square hole. Any help would be appreciated!

oem is plastic. you could reach around and just use a nut on a bolt.

Yeah I have the big plastic one but didn’t care for how it looks. Just wanted something simple and cleaner. I thought about using bolts but was worried about not having a plastic between the hardware and the chrome on the bumper

I used well nuts from the hardware store.
Are you using a license plate frame between the plate and bumper or just the plate by itself to the bumper? I’m looking to do the same thing when I put my intercooler guard on.

I have the factory front license plate bracket but decided not to install it. To me it looks terrible on the front. I used just the two #10-24 well nuts and installed the plate directly to those. The rubber heads of the well nuts provided enough buffer between the plate and the bumper that there isn’t any contact between the two.

Nice! That’s what I will do then. Thanks

You could also add a rubber license plate frame to ensure no contact with the bumper.
I got this one from amazon and have used on several vehicles. Still needs be bolted to bumper as posted above.
